St. James Catholic Church is a Catholic church in Crosstown, Missouri. It is operated as a mission church of the parish of St. Vincent de Paul in Perryville. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ste. Genevieve Deanery of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
The original mission church started in a private home in 1860s. The frame church was begun in 1884 and finished in 1889. The church was restored after the fire of 1926. [1] [2]

He served as archbishop of the Archdiocese of St. Louis in Missouri from 1946 until his death in 1967, and was created a cardinal in 1961. He previously served as auxiliary bishop (1933–34) and bishop (1934–46) of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis in Indiana. Ritter was one of the cardinals elector who participated at the Papal Conclave,1963.
