St Ignatius Church Puthenthope, Thiruvananthapuram, is a Catholic church located in the Kadinamkulam panchayat of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Puthenthope claims to have rich historical legacy. It is generally believed that during 1543-44 period, St. Francis Xavier visited the place and founded the church, perhaps in a rudimentary form. The church was rebuilt in 1989, with the foundation stone being blessed by Pope John Paul II during his visit to Thiruvananthapuram in 1986.
The church is the replica of St.Joseph's Cathedral in Thiruvananthapuram City. A grotto of Mary is also built in front of the church and the statue of Mary in the grotto was brought from Lourde by a native of Puthenthope. A parochial house, which shows the typical architecture of Kerala is also situated nearby the church. St.Ignatius Parish community hall is another building situated along with the church in the junction of Puthenthope.
The church is the epicenter of all religious and social activities. The community celebrate Christmas, Easter and other Catholic festivals.

The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, also known as the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, is an Eastern Catholic sui iuris particular church in full communion with the worldwide Catholic Church possessing self-governance under the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches. Carfin Lourdes Grotto is a Catholic shrine in Scotland dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes and created in the early twentieth century. Puthenthope is a coastal village in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) district in Kerala, India, and situated 19 km (12 mi) northwest of city centre, 16 km from Trivandrum International Airport. The village is mostly covered with coconut palms and cashew trees. Its western side edges the Arabian Sea, while the east is separated by Parvathi Puthanar, a manmade canal completed during the time of Regent Sethu Lakshmi Bhai of Travancore Kingdom. Access to National Highway and a railway station is as short as 2 km (1.2 mi) and the VSSC of the Indian Space Research Organisation is close by. The St. Mary, Queen of Peace Basilica, located in the Palayam/Cantonment area of the city of Thiruvananthapuram, in the state of Kerala, India, is the first Syro-Malankara Catholic Church to be elevated to the rank of a Catholic basilica. It is the fifth basilica in Kerala.
