The Star Awards for Special Achievement Award is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994.
The category was introduced in 1995, at the 2nd Star Awards ceremony; Xiang Yun received the award for her performance and it is given in honour of a Mediacorp artiste who have made significant contributions in the performance of his/her respective field of profession over the past few years. Winners are selected by a majority vote from the entire judging panel.
The award was initially discontinued from 2004, but was revived in 2018.
Since its inception, the award has been given to Twelve artistes. Mark Lee is the most recent winner in this category.

It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by Mediacorp for the two free-to-air channels, Mediacorp Channels 8 and U. The twentieth installment of Star Awards was broadcast live on Channel 8, on 20 and 27 April 2014. The first ceremony was held at the Mediacorp TV Theatre while the second ceremony was held at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Star Awards 2018 is a television award ceremony which is held in Singapore, with the Post Party and Ceremony Awards was broadcast live on 22 April 2018. A total of 15 awards were handed out during the ceremony, among which the Special Achievement Award, an award given out to a celebrity in recognition to meritorious contribution, returned after a 15-year absence, with the award last presented in 2003, in the place of All-Time Favourite Artiste, which was not presented this year, and the third ceremony overall, after 2007 and 2013.

The Star Awards 2023 ceremony, the 28th edition of Star Awards, presented by the Mediacorp, took place on 9 April 2023 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. During the gala, Mediacorp presented Star Awards in 12 categories honoring Mediacorp's employees, minor awards in four categories and sponsored awards in two categories. The ceremony was televised on Channel 8. Lee Teng and Taiwanese actress-singer Matilda Tao, hosted the show.
