The Star Awards for Special Achievement Award is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994.

Contents

The category was introduced in 1995, at the 2nd Star Awards ceremony; Xiang Yun received the award for her performance and it is given in honour of a MediaCorp artiste who have made significant contributions in the performance of his/her respective field of profession over the past few years. Winners are selected by a majority vote from the entire judging panel.

The award was initially discontinued from 2004, but was revived in 2018.

Since its inception, the award has been given to Twelve artistes. Mark Lee is the most recent winner in this category.

Star Awards are awards for artistic and technical merit where Mediacorp recognises entertainers under their employment for outstanding performances of the year.

Star Awards 2005 was the 12th Star Awards ceremony, held on 4 December 2005. It was part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. Following MediaCorp's merger with SPH MediaWorks on 1 January 2005, the nominees included artistes from the former SPH MediaWorks Channel U, many of whom were former employees of MediaCorp and its predecessor Television Corporation of Singapore. MediaCorp TV Channel 8 broadcast the awards ceremony from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm while SPH MediaWorks Channel U, aired the ceremony for the first time and began broadcasting the ceremony at 7:30 pm.

The TVB Anniversary Awards, officially known as the TVB Awards Presentation, is an annual awards ceremony honouring TVB's programming achievements in Hong Kong television; despite claims that it is the region's equivalent to the American Emmy and the Australian Logie, no other networks are allowed to enter their programmes into TVB competition, and it is awarded solely to TVB programming.
