The Galactic Empire is a fictional autocracy featured in the Star Wars franchise. It was first introduced in the 1977 film Star Wars and appears in its two sequels: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983). It is the main antagonistic faction of the original trilogy. An oppressive, autocratic regime with a complicated bureaucracy, the Galactic Empire seeks to ensure singular rule and social control over every planet and civilization within the galaxy.

They are part of the fictional Star Wars expanded universe, and cover the Great Sith War and the Great Hyperspace War. Darth Bane is a fictional character created by George Lucas in the Star Wars franchise. In the Star Wars universe, Darth Bane is a powerful Sith Lord who lived one thousand years before the events of the films and is known for being the originator of the Sith's "Rule of Two", which states: "One master and one apprentice can be the only Sith in the galaxy at a time". Before it the Sith empire was structured like the Jedi but due to their shortfalls he killed them and created this new rule.

It is the sequel to BioWare's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and was released for the Xbox on December 6, 2004, for Microsoft Windows on February 8, 2005, for OS X and Linux on July 21, 2015, for Android and iOS on December 18, 2020 and for Nintendo Switch on June 8, 2022. Like its predecessor, it is set in the Star Wars universe 4,000 years before the events of the film Episode I: The Phantom Menace and is based on the d20 System developed by Wizards of the Coast.
Atton Rand is a fictional character and party member in Obsidian Entertainment's 2004 action role-playing video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords. Within the series, Atton is a human pilot encountered by the Jedi Exile, the protagonist of The Sith Lords, on the asteroid mining station Peragus II, where he joins the player's party and assumes the role of pilot in command of the spacecraft, the Ebon Hawk. Atton was designed with Han Solo as the character archetype. A number of subplots involving the character were cut during development due to time and technical constraints, but were later curated and restored by The Sith Lords Restored Content Modification, a fan mod utilizing hidden assets within the game's code over the period of a decade after the original game's release. He is voiced by Nicky Katt.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is a 2006 monthly Star Wars comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics. It takes place in the same timeline as the video games of the same name, eight years prior to the first game. The series ran for 50 issues. In 2012, a five-issue miniseries was released as a follow-up titled Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: War.
The Sith are the main antagonists of many works in the fictional universe of the Star Wars franchise. They are the antithesis and ancient enemies of the Jedi. The Sith Order is depicted as an ancient monastic and kraterocratic cultist organization of supernaturally gifted Force-wielders driven by a machiavellian-imperialist agenda of galactic domination and revenge against the Jedi Order. The various antagonistic factions in the franchise, namely the Separatist Alliance, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the First Galactic Empire, the Imperial Remnant, and the First Order, all originated, either directly or indirectly, from the Sith.

Ahsoka Tano is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. She was introduced as the 14-year-old Togruta Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) before appearing in the subsequent animated television series ; the sequel series Star Wars Rebels (2014–2018); in the live-action film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) as a voiceover cameo; and in the miniseries Tales of the Jedi (2022), voiced by Ashley Eckstein. In 2020, Ahsoka made her live-action debut in the second season of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, portrayed by Rosario Dawson. Dawson reprised the role in a 2022 episode of the spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett, and stars in her limited series, Ahsoka, in 2023.
Bastila Shan is a fictional character and party member in the 2003 action role-playing video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts. Bastila is a member of the Jedi Order, and plays a key role in the war between the Jedi-backed Galactic Republic, and Sith Forces led by the Sith Lords Darth Revan and Darth Malak, both of whom were originally Jedi. Bastila would eventually succeed in a desperate plan to defeat and incapacitate Revan, with the goal of molding the Sith Lord back into the light side of the Force. Towards the end of the game, Bastila falls to the dark side of the Force and sides with Darth Malak as his new Sith apprentice, though her final fate is ultimately decided by the player as Revan, who is revealed to be the story's amnesiac protagonist all along in a plot twist midway through the game's narrative. Bastila Shan was voiced by Jennifer Hale, with her casting being considered one of the most important among the game's characters. Bastila was originally envisioned as the descendant of a character from the Tales of the Jedi comics series but is ultimately developed with no ties to other pre-established characters.
Carth Onasi is a fictional character and party member in the 2003 action role-playing video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts. A skilled pilot and decorated war hero of the Galactic Republic who served in the Mandalorian Wars, an important background conflict to the Knights of the Old Republic series, Carth plays a key role in the war between the Jedi-backed Galactic Republic and Sith Forces during the Jedi Civil War depicted in Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. He is also a romance option for female characters. Carth later appears as a recurring supporting character in the monthly Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic prequel comic book series. He is voiced by American actor Raphael Sbarge in the video games.
Darth Maul, also known simply as Maul, is a character in the Star Wars franchise. He first appeared in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as a powerful Sith Lord and Darth Sidious' first apprentice. Though seemingly killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of the film, Darth Maul returned in the 2008 computer animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Star Wars creator George Lucas had intended for the resurrected Maul to serve as the main antagonist of the sequel film trilogy, but these plans were abandoned when Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. The character nonetheless reappeared in the 2014 animated series Star Wars Rebels and the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story, voiced again by Witwer; Park physically reprised the role in Solo. Since his initial defeat in The Phantom Menace, Maul has become an independent criminal mastermind and endured as Obi-Wan's archenemy.

Mandalorians are a fictional group of people associated with the planet Mandalore in the Star Wars universe and franchise created by Joe Johnston and George Lucas. Their most distinct cultural features are their battle helmets, chest armor, vambraces, and often jetpacks. The Mandalorian character Boba Fett is, after Darth Vader and the stormtroopers, the most well recognized characters of the franchise and one of its most frequent characters.
Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance is a science fiction novel from the Star Wars franchise written by Australian author Sean Williams. It is a prequel to and the first novel based on the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic by BioWare Corp., and was released on July 20, 2010. The novel was first announced on November 10, 2008, by Sue Rostoni, the executive editor at Lucas Licensing, on the Starwars.com message boards.
