USS Satterlee (DD-190) was a Clemson-class destroyer in the United States Navy, entering service in 1919. After brief service until 1922, the ship was placed in reserve. The ship was reactivated for World War II before being transferred to the Royal Navy in 1940. Renamed HMS Belmont, the destroyer was used as a convoy escort in the Battle of the Atlantic where she was torpedoed and sunk on 31 January 1942.

The Hall is named after Sir Hugh Daly, who served as the Resident of Mysore State and Chief Commissioner of Coorg.
On June 15, 1920, three African-American circus workers, Elias Clayton, Elmer Jackson, and Isaac McGhie, suspects in an assault case, were taken from the jail and lynched by a white mob of thousands in Duluth, Minnesota. Rumors had circulated that six African Americans had raped and robbed a nineteen-year-old white woman. A physician who examined her found no physical evidence of rape.

The village is connected with the rest of the country by the D46 state road connecting it with the town of Vinkovci and continuing into Serbia as the State Road 120 to the nearest town of Šid.

Borl Castle is an imposing medieval castle above the banks of the Drava northeast of the main settlement in Dolane, Slovenia. It probably dates to the 12th century with 15th- and 17th-century additions. Some wall paintings, sculpture, and internal furnishings survive. In the Second World War, between 1941 and 1943, the castle served as a Gestapo prison. At first the castle stables and later the castle itself were used to imprison, interrogate, and torture suspects. In 1956, a memorial room was opened and a commemorative plaque was unveiled at the castle. It has been protected as a cultural monument of national significance.
