Disney California Adventure Park, commonly referred to as Disney California Adventure, California Adventure, or DCA, is a theme park located in Anaheim, California. It is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Parks, Experiences and Products division. The 72-acre (29 ha) park is themed after the history and culture of California, which celebrates the fun and adventure of the state through the use of various Disney, Pixar and Marvel properties. The park opened on February 8, 2001 as Disney's California Adventure Park or Disney's California Adventure, and it is the second of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort complex, after Disneyland Park.
Walt Disney Studios Park is the second of two theme parks built at Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Vallée, France, which opened on 16 March 2002. It is dedicated to show business, themed after movies, production, and behind-the-scenes. In 2017, the park hosted approximately 5.2 million guests, making it the third-most visited amusement park in Europe. Its sister park is Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a mine train roller coaster located in Frontierland at several Disneyland-style Disney Parks worldwide. The ride exists at Disneyland Park (California) and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and at Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Park (Paris) as Big Thunder Mountain. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is also the name of the fictional rail line the roller coaster depicts.
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is an enclosed, launched roller coaster located at Disney's Hollywood Studios within Walt Disney World. Manufactured by Vekoma, the roller coaster opened to the public on July 29, 1999. It uses linear motor electromagnetic technology for acceleration, which propels riders from 0 to 57 mph (92 km/h) in 2.8 seconds. Riders experience up to 5 G's and travel through three inversions, which include a sea serpent roll and a corkscrew. The attraction also features recorded music as well as appearances from the well-known rock band Aerosmith.
Universal's Islands of Adventure is a theme park located in Orlando, Florida. It opened on May 28, 1999, along with CityWalk, as part of an expansion that converted Universal Studios Florida into the Universal Orlando Resort. The resort's slogan Vacation Like You Mean It was introduced in 2013.
An indoor roller coaster or enclosed roller coaster is a roller coaster built inside a structure. The structure may be unrelated to the ride, or it may be intended solely or primarily for the ride. Many indoor coasters are custom made and placed in amusement parks or shopping malls. LaMarcus Adna Thompson, who pioneered the construction of the first simple roller coasters, initially built "scenic railway" rides including "indoor tableaux, panoramas, and biblical scenes illumined by car-tripped switches and flood lamps". A "completely enclosed roller coaster" called the Twister was built as early as 1925. Walt Disney's Space Mountain was one of the first rides considered to be an indoor roller coaster, and was "the first indoor roller coaster where riders were in total darkness for the length of the ride so they couldn't tell where the drops or turns would occur".
Toy Story Land is a themed land at Walt Disney Studios Park, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The area is based on the Disney·Pixar film series Toy Story.
RC Racer is a steel shuttle roller coaster operating at Walt Disney Studios Park in France, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland. Manufactured by Intamin, the ride is part of the Toy Story Playland in France, Toy Story Land in Hong Kong, and Toy Story Land in Shanghai. The France ride opened on August 17, 2010, the Hong Kong installation opened on November 17, 2011, and the Shanghai ride opened on April 26, 2018. This is the second roller coaster in Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland, and the third roller coaster in Walt Disney Studios Park.
Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, also known as Ratatouille: L'Attraction, Ratatouille: The Adventure, and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure is a motion-based trackless 3D dark ride based on the 2007 Disney·Pixar animated film Ratatouille in Walt Disney Studios Park located in Disneyland Paris, France and announced for Epcot in Walt Disney World.
Iron Man Experience is a 3-D motion simulator attraction in Tomorrowland at Hong Kong Disneyland, which opened on 11 January 2017. The attraction is based on the Marvel Comics character Iron Man, becoming the first Disney attraction to be based on a Marvel property. Set at the fictional Stark Expo, the attraction features Tony Stark recruiting guests to fend off extraterrestrial beings that are attacking Hong Kong.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is a themed area inspired by the Star Wars franchise, located within Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The area encompasses 14 acres (5.7 ha) at each park. Galaxy's Edge is set within the village of Black Spire Outpost, on the remote frontier planet of Batuu, and features attractions, shops, restaurants, and entertainment offerings.
Tron Lightcycle Power Run is a semi-enclosed launched steel motorbike roller coaster attraction at Shanghai Disneyland Park, and an upcoming attraction at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Based on the Tron series, the attraction takes guests on a ride through the Grid on their own light cycle.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! is an accelerated drop tower dark ride attraction at Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort. Based on the Marvel Comics characters, it depicts Rocket Raccoon recruiting guests to attempt to free the remaining Guardians of the Galaxy from display within the Collector's fortress.
Marvel Super Hero Island is an area at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure park in Orlando, Florida that is themed after popular Marvel Comics superheroes. The area opened in 1999, ten years prior to Universal competitor The Walt Disney Company acquiring Marvel Entertainment in 2009. The island is home to four attractions, including The Incredible Hulk and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. Marvel Super Hero Island’s architecture and theming is modeled after a Marvel comic book, with a comic book color scheme, amplified angles, and cutouts of many of the most popular Marvel characters.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an upcoming enclosed roller coaster attraction under construction at Epcot. It will be manufactured by Vekoma. Based on the Marvel Studios film Guardians of the Galaxy, it will be the first attraction at Walt Disney World to be built based on a Marvel Comics property. It will replace the Universe of Energy attraction, which closed on August 13, 2017.
Avengers Campus is an upcoming Marvel Comics–themed area being developed at several Disney theme parks: Disney California Adventure, Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland. The Marvel-themed areas or "lands" will be developed simultaneously at the three parks and inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However it will instead take place in the "Marvel Theme Park Universe", an alternate universe parallel to it within the Marvel Multiverse, in which Thanos snapping half of all life in the universe out of existence in Avengers: Infinity War did not occur. They will be developed by Walt Disney Imagineering, in collaboration with Marvel Studios and Marvel Themed Entertainment.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! is an attraction located in Hong Kong Disneyland, featuring the Marvel Comics characters Ant-Man and The Wasp. It opened on March 31, 2019.
Arendelle: World of Frozen is an upcoming themed area based on the 2013 film Frozen. This land is currently being developed by Walt Disney Imagineering at Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris.
Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure is an upcoming interactive screen ride being developed at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, California and the Walt Disney Studios Park in Marne-la-Vallée, Paris, France as part of their respective Avengers Campuses.
