Stef Chura is an American indie rock musician from Detroit, Michigan.
Chura was originally from Alpena, Michigan. She moved to the Ypsilanti area of Michigan in 2009, where she began playing shows. Chura moved to Detroit in 2012 and began home-recording and self-releasing her songs, while also playing bass in friends’ bands. After years of promoting her home recordings, the death of a close friend prompted Chura to record an album. “One of my best friends passed away and I thought, what do I have to do before I die? I have to at least make one record.” [1]
Chura released her debut full-length album in 2017 titled Messes, [2] to positive reviews from Pitchfork, [3] Rolling Stone, [4] and Exclaim!. [5] In November 2017, Chura announced plans to release a reissue of her album Messes, and that she has signed to Saddle Creek Records, who will put out the reissue. [6] Messes was officially reissued February 2, 2018.[ citation needed ]
Following the reissue of Messes, Chura told DIY Magazine she is already working on a follow-up album that will be produced by Will Toledo from Car Seat Headrest. [7] On April 21, 2018 (Record Store Day), Chura released a 7-inch, Degrees B/W Sour Honey produced by Toledo. The 7-inch features two songs that were cut from her debut album Messes, “Degrees" and "Sour Honey". [8] Audiofemme gave Degrees B/W Sour Honey a positive review, saying it "show[s] Chura’s range in emotion, voice, and musicianship". [9] Chura's second studio album, Midnight was released on June 7, 2019. [10]

It consists of Oberst, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, arranger, composer and trumpet and piano player Nate Walcott, and a rotating line-up of collaborators drawn primarily from Omaha's indie music scene.
Fevers and Mirrors is the third studio album by American indie band Bright Eyes, recorded in 1999 and released on May 29, 2000. It was the 32nd release of the Omaha, Nebraska-based record label Saddle Creek Records. The album was released later in 2000 in the United Kingdom as the inaugural release from Wichita Recordings.
Saddle Creek Records is an American record label based in Omaha, Nebraska. Started as a college class project on entrepreneurship, the label was founded by Mike Mogis and Justin Oberst in 1993. Mogis soon turned over his role in the company to Robb Nansel. The label is named after Saddle Creek Road, a major street which cuts through midtown Omaha and also the beginnings of a scene whose members included Justin's brother Conor Oberst, Tim Kasher, and others. Collectively, they were known unofficially as the "Creekers". Saddle Creek first appeared in print on a show flyer, offering to "Spend an evening with Saddle Creek" Saddle Creek became an incorporated entity as a result of a class project on entrepreneurship. Cursive is an American indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska. Stylistically described as emo and post-hardcore, Cursive came to prominence with 2000's Domestica and found commercial and critical success with 2003's The Ugly Organ. The band has released eight studio albums, a compilations album, and a mix of singles and EPs since 1997. They have released recordings on several labels, including 15 Passenger Records, Saddle Creek Records, and Big Scary Monsters (UK).
Timothy J. Kasher is an American musician from Omaha, Nebraska, and is the frontman of indie rock groups Cursive and the Good Life, both of which are on the Omaha-based record label Saddle Creek Records.
Azure Ray is an American dream pop duo, consisting of musicians Orenda Fink and Maria Taylor. Formed in Athens, Georgia, in 2001, they later moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and became part of the Saddle Creek Records music scene, which also included Bright Eyes, The Faint, and Cursive. Azure Ray's music has often been featured in film and television, including Six Feet Under, Grey's Anatomy, and The Devil Wears Prada. They have released five albums and several EPs.
Maria Diane Taylor is an American singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. She is also a member of the duo Azure Ray with Orenda Fink. Taylor plays several instruments, including the guitar, drums, and piano and has collaborated or performed with such artists as Bright Eyes, Phoebe Bridgers, Moby, Michael Stipe of R.E.M., Joshua Radin, and more.
Neva Dinova is an indie band from Omaha, Nebraska, formed in 1993 "at the height of the slowcore movement" by guitarist/singer-songwriter Jake Bellows and bassist Heath Koontz. The band is named after Jake Bellows's grandmother. They were initially on Crank! A Record Company, where they released their debut album Neva Dinova in 2002, followed by a collaborative split EP with Bright Eyes entitled One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels in 2004 and their second album The Hate Yourself Change in 2005. The band's third album You May Already Be Dreaming was released in 2008 on Saddle Creek Records. The group subsequently dissolved, playing their last show in 2009.
