Stefan Hechenberger is an Austrian artist and programmer. His works include interactive software, computer vision projects and open-source hardware. [1]

Hechenberger has worked with Zach Lieberman in creating the OpenCV library for openFrameworks, an open source C++ library for creative coding and graphics. (openFrameworks website). In 2006, Hechenberger co-founded the New York City and Vienna based research and development collaborative, NORTD labs, which developed the open source system called CUBIT (multi-touch) in 2007 [2] and the more recent iteration TouchKit in 2008. .

From 2007 to 2008, Hechenberger was an honorary fellow at Eyebeam. [3] [4] In 2011, under NORTD labs he was a fellow at Culture Lab UK. [5] During 2012, NORTD labs held residencies at Hyperwerk Institute for Postindustrial Design in Basel, Switzerland and Carnegie Mellon University STUDIO for Creative Inquiry for their most recent project Lasersaur.

Hechenberger holds a Vordiplom in Computer Science and Astronautics from the Technical University Munich Germany and an MFA from CADRE Laboratory for New Media, San Jose State University. He also holds a Master of Professional Studies from New York University. [6]

It was developed to "demystify multitouch" technology by using an open-source model for software and hardware. It is a direct competitor of Microsoft Surface.

Ideum is a company based in Corrales, New Mexico, United States that produces multitouch tables and walls, custom interactive exhibits, and custom hardware. The company was founded in 1999 by Jim Spadaccini, who created interactive exhibits for San Francisco's Exploratorium before becoming creative director at Ideum. With strong ties to the museum and informal science education fields, many of the company's products and services are targeted at museums and other public spaces. In 2015 and 2016, the company was listed on the Inc. 5000, list of the Fastest Growing Companies in the US. In 2017 and again in 2018, the company was honored as one of the "Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America" by Entrepreneur Magazine.

Kyle McDonald is a media artist. McDonald creates visually appealing models using code, and releases tool kits for other artists to customize their own art as they see fit. McDonald was recently an adjunct professor at New York University Tisch School of the Arts' ITP. He is a member of F.A.T lab, and a community manager for OpenFrameworks. He was a resident at STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon University.
