Steffi Menning (born 2 January 1971) is a German former professional tennis player.
Menning, who was born in Oberstdorf, was an Orange Bowl doubles finalist in 1987 and won the 1988 German National Indoor Championships. [1]
On the professional tour, she reached a best singles ranking of 188 in the world. She qualified for the main draw of the 1990 Australian Open and was beaten in the first round by Audra Keller, in three sets. [2]

Stefanie Maria Graf is a German former professional tennis player. Widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, she was ranked as the world No. 1 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for a record 377 weeks, and finished as the year-end No. 1 a record eight times. Graf won 107 singles titles on the WTA Tour, including 22 major women's singles titles, the second-most since the start of the Open Era in 1968 and the third-most of all time. She is the only tennis player, male or female, to have won each major singles tournament at least four times — a quadruple career Grand Slam.
Monica Seles is a Serbian–American former professional tennis player. She was ranked as the world No. 1 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for 178 weeks, and finished as the year-end No. 1 three times. Seles won 53 WTA Tour-level singles titles, including nine majors, eight of them as a teenager while representing Yugoslavia, and the final one while representing the United States.

The 1989 Citizen Cup was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts at the Am Rothenbaum in Hamburg in West Germany that was part of the Category 3 tier of the 1989 WTA Tour. It was the 12th edition of the edition of the tournament and was held from 1 May until 7 May 1989. First-seeded Steffi Graf won the singles title, her third consecutive at the event. Both the singles and doubles finals were cancelled after Jana Novotná was forced to default as a result of an injury to her right ankle which she sustained during her singles semifinal match against Arantxa Sánchez Vicario.
