Stein Torleif Bjella (born 7 April 1968) is a Norwegian songwriter, singer and guitarist.

Bjella was born in Ål, in the region of Hallingdal. [1] His first solo album Heidersmenn from 2009 was well received. [2] He was awarded Spellemannprisen for the 2011 folk music album Vonde visu. In 2013 he released his third solo album, Heim for å døy. [1] In 2016 he released the album Gode liv. [1] [3]

In 2017, Bjella released the poetry book Jordsjukantologien Nr. 1. The following year, he released the album Jordsjukantologien, featuring his poetry set to music. [4]

The singles chart started as a top 10 chart in week 42 of 1958 and was expanded to a top 20 chart in week 5 of 1995, the same time the albums chart, which started as a top 20 chart in week 1 of 1967 was expanded to a top 40 chart.

Norsktoppen was a musical hit list at NRK Radio, originally playing songs exclusively by Norwegian artists. Until 1986, the songs had to be in the Norwegian language. Norsktoppen started airing in 1973, once a week. Norsktoppen was canceled on 1 January 2009. This decision—to close down the show as outdated—raised some public debate, including an interpellation in the Storting raised by representative Ulf Erik Knudsen to the minister of culture. As only songs with Norwegian artists were included, Norsktoppen came to be an important tool for the Norwegian recording industry.

Stein Mehren was a Norwegian poet, essayist and playwright. He made his literary debut as poet with Gjennom stillheten en natt (1960). He wrote more than fifty books, mainly poetry.

Smørbukk is a Norwegian comic strip. It was started in 1938 by text writer Andreas Haavoll and illustrator Jens R. Nilssen. The first Smørbukk story was based on the fairytale Buttercup collected by Asbjørnsen and Moe. The strip appears in the children's magazine Norsk Barneblad, as well as in separate albums. From 1959/1960 to 1983 the series was illustrated by Solveig Muren Sanden. Later text writers have been Øyvind Dybwad and Johannes Farestveit. From 1983 Håkon Aasnes took over as illustrator.
