Stephanie D. Howse (born August 21,1979) is an American politician serving as a member of the Cleveland City Council from the 7th ward. She was previously a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.
Howse was raised in Cleveland,and is the daughter of former Representative Annie L. Key. [1] [2] Howse is a graduate of the Cleveland School of the Arts,where she studied vocal and instrumental music. After high school,Howse earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from Florida A&M University and a Master of Science in environmental studies from Cleveland State University.
Howse briefly served as a member of the Cleveland City Council in 2008. From 2015 to 2022,she represented the 11th district of the Ohio House of Representatives. [3] In 2021,Howse was elected to the Cleveland City Council and resigned from the House. [4]

She was the first African American woman to be elected to Congress from Ohio.
Ann Womer Benjamin is the mayor of Aurora,Ohio,a position she has held since 2014. She is former executive director of the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education. Womer Benjamin served in the cabinet of the former Governor of Ohio Bob Taft as director of the Ohio Department of Insurance. It is the only fully infused academic and arts High School of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The school opened in 1981. Marcia Louise Fudge is an American attorney and retired politician who served as the 18th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 2021 to 2024. A member of the Democratic Party,she served as the U.S. representative for Ohio's 11th congressional district from 2008 to 2021. The district included most of the black-majority precincts between Cleveland and Akron.
Annie Key is a former Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives,representing the 11th District from 2001 to 2006. A former telephone worker with Ohio Bell and later AT&T,Key initially ran for the Ohio House of Representatives in 2000 to succeed Troy Lee James,who had held the seat for 34 years and no longer could run due to term limits. She succeeded in her bid,and was seated on January 3,2001. She would go on to win reelection in 2002,and 2004. By her second term,Key was serving as the ranking Democratic member on the Ethics and Elections Committee.
Nickie J. Antonio is an American politician from Ohio. A Democrat,she serves in the Ohio Senate representing the 23rd district,which is located in the western portion of Cuyahoga County and contains the western third of Cleveland and some of the nearby western suburbs. She previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives representing the 13th district from 2011 to 2018. A former member of Lakewood City Council,Antonio was elected to the lower chamber of the legislature in 2010 and took office on January 3,2011,and was re-elected in the 2012 General election,receiving 75% of the vote. After being term limited in the lower chamber of the legislature,Antonio was elected to the upper chamber of the legislature in 2018 and took office on January 7,2019.
Hough is a neighborhood situated on the East Side of Cleveland,Ohio. Roughly two square miles,the neighborhood is bounded to Superior and Euclid Avenue between East 55th and East 105th streets. Placed between Downtown Cleveland and University Circle,Hough borders Fairfax and Cedar–Central to the South and Glenville and St. Clair–Superior to the North. The neighborhood became a target for revitalization during the mid-20th century,after the 1966 Hough Riots.
