Interstate 4 (I-4) is an Interstate Highway located entirely within the US state of Florida,maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Spanning 132.30 miles (212.92 km) along a generally southwest–northeast axis,I-4 is entirely concurrent with State Road 400 (SR 400). In the west,I-4 begins at an interchange with I-275 in Tampa. I-4 intersects with several major expressways as it traverses Central Florida,including US Highway 41 (US 41) in Tampa;US 301 near Riverview;I-75 near Brandon;US 98 in Lakeland;US 27 in unincorporated Davenport;US 192 in Celebration;Florida's Turnpike in Orlando;and US 17 and US 92 in multiple junctions. In the east,I-4 ends at an interchange with I-95 in Daytona Beach,while SR 400 continues for roughly another four miles (6.4 km) and ends at an intersection with US 1 on the city line of Daytona Beach and South Daytona.
Tri-Rail is a commuter rail service linking Miami,Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach in Florida,United States. The Tri prefix in the name refers to the three counties served by the railroad:Palm Beach,Broward,and Miami-Dade. Tri-Rail is managed by the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) along CSX Transportation's former Miami Subdivision;the line is now wholly owned by the Florida DOT. The 80.0-mile-long (128.7 km) system has 19 stations along the Southeast Florida coast,and connects directly to Amtrak at numerous stations,to Metrorail at the Metrorail Transfer station,Miami Airport station,and MiamiCentral,and to Brightline at MiamiCentral.
The Florida High-Speed Corridor is a canceled high-speed rail project in the U.S. state of Florida. Initial service would have run between the cities of Tampa and Orlando,with plans to then extend service to South Florida,terminating in Miami. Trains with a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h) to 186 mph (300 km/h) would run on dedicated rail lines alongside the state's existing highway network.
State Road 23 (SR 23),also known as the First Coast Expressway,is a controlled-access toll road serving as an outer bypass around the southwest quadrant of Jacksonville. As of 2024,the first phase has been built,linking the Middleburg area to Interstate 10 near Whitehouse,with the second phase is currently under construction and will be completed in 2030.
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is the independent agency responsible for public transit in the city of Jacksonville,Florida,and roadway infrastructure that connects northeast Florida. However,they do not maintain any roadways. In 2023,the system had a ridership of 6,687,200,or about 22,600 per weekday as of the first quarter of 2024.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is a decentralized agency charged with the establishment,maintenance,and regulation of public transportation in the state of Florida. The department was formed in 1969. It absorbed the powers of the State Road Department (SRD). The current Secretary of Transportation is Jared W. Perdue.
State Road 16 (SR 16) runs from northwest to southeast between Raiford and St. Augustine. It passes through the towns of Starke and Green Cove Springs in addition to providing access to Camp Blanding. Major roads and/or highways that SR 16 crosses include:US 301,SR 21,US 17,SR 13,Interstate 95 and US 1.
State Road 100 is a 153-mile-long (246 km) east–west highway serving northeast Florida. Its western terminus is at the Georgia-Florida border four miles (6.4 km) north of Avoca,Florida;its eastern terminus is an intersection with Shore Scenic Highway in Flagler Beach. The portion west of Lake City is only signed as portions of US 41 and US 129,both of which run north–south.
Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) is an intermodal rapid transit,commuter rail,intercity rail,local bus,and intercity bus transportation hub in Miami-Dade County,Florida,just outside the Miami city limits near the Grapeland Heights neighborhood. The facility was constructed by the Florida Department of Transportation and is owned by the Greater Miami Expressway Agency.
The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority,or TBARTA,was a regional transportation agency of the U.S. state of Florida which was created on July 1,2007. The transportation agency ceased all operations on December 30,2023,after the governing board voted unanimously to disband. The purpose of the agency was "to plan,develop,finance,construct,own,purchase,operate,maintain,relocate,equip,repair,and manage multimodal systems in Hernando,Hillsborough,Manatee,Pasco,and Pinellas Counties." The agency coordinated its efforts with the Florida Department of Transportation to improve transportation in the Tampa Bay Area.
George Stephen LeMieux is an American former politician who was a United States Senator from Florida from 2009 to 2011. He is chairman of the Florida-based law firm of Gunster Yoakley &Stewart and was chief of staff to Governor Charlie Crist. He was the Deputy Florida Attorney General and is credited with spearheading Crist's successful campaign for governor. In 2009,Crist appointed LeMieux as U.S. Senator to replace Mel Martínez,who resigned.
SunRail is a commuter rail system in the Greater Orlando,Florida,area. Services began on May 1,2014. The system comprises 16 stations along a former CSX Transportation line connecting Volusia County and Osceola County through Downtown Orlando. The SunRail system is financed by the state and federal governments and the counties it serves. SunRail is Florida's second commuter rail system after South Florida's Tri-Rail.
State Road 230 is a short state highway in northeastern Florida that runs between Starke,Florida and Camp Blanding. It runs east and west and is always no more than two lanes wide. Within the Starke city limits,and slightly beyond,the road is known as Call Street.
Denver J. Stutler Jr. is an American engineer who served as the Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation from June 2005 to December 2006 under then-Florida Governor Jeb Bush. Stutler previously served as chief of staff to Governor Bush before becoming secretary.
The Central Polk Parkway,also known as State Road 570B (SR 570B),is a proposed controlled-access toll road in Polk County,Florida. The proposed road is actually two separate roads—called legs by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The western segment will connect the Polk Parkway with SR 60 between Bartow and Lake Wales. The eastern leg will start a few miles east of SR 60 and run north,parallel to US Highway 27 (US 27),and terminate at Interstate 4 (I-4) north of Davenport. The most recent,and viable,proposed routing will connect the two legs together near the CSX Intermodal Facility south of Wahneta. In December 2015,FDOT announced the cancellation of any further work on the project,citing insufficient funds and low traffic volume. The project continued to have the support of the local business community and local politicians,however,and it was revived in 2018.

Robert Milner "Rob" Bradley,Jr. is a Republican politician from Florida. He served as a member of the Florida Senate,representing parts of North Central Florida from 2012 until he was term-limited in 2020.
The Seaboard–All Florida Railway was a subsidiary of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad that oversaw two major extensions of the system in the early 1920s to southern Florida on each coast during the land boom. One line extended the Seaboard's tracks on the east coast from West Palm Beach down to Fort Lauderdale and Miami,while the other extension on the west coast extended the tracks from Fort Ogden south to Fort Myers and Naples,with branches from Fort Myers to LaBelle and Punta Rassa. These two extensions were heavily championed by Seaboard president S. Davies Warfield,and were constructed by Foley Brothers railroad contractors. Both extensions also allowed the Seaboard to better compete with the Florida East Coast Railway and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad,who already served the lower east and west coasts of Florida respectively.
The Clearwater Subdivision is a railroad line owned by CSX Transportation in the Tampa Bay region of Florida. The line begins just east of downtown Tampa in Gary and heads north through some of Tampa's suburban neighborhoods. In Sulphur Springs,the Clearwater Subdivision turns and runs west through Oldsmar,where it crosses Tampa Bay. It briefly shifts south running through Safety Harbor,and then heads west again to Clearwater. In Clearwater,it turns southeast,running through Largo and Pinellas Park before terminating at Fifth Avenue North in St. Petersburg near Tropicana Field. The distance from Gary to St. Petersburg along the line is 48.6 miles (78.2 km). At the line's north end it continues from the Tampa Terminal Subdivision and at its south end the track comes to an end.
The 2022 Florida gubernatorial election was held on November 8,2022,to elect the governor of Florida,alongside other state and local elections. Incumbent Republican Party governor Ron DeSantis won re-election in a landslide and defeated the Democratic Party nominee,former U.S. representative Charlie Crist,who previously served as governor of Florida from 2007 to 2011 as a Republican and later as an Independent. No Democrat has been elected governor of Florida since 1994.
