In July 2021 Winder announced that she would retire from professional competition at the end of the season. During the 2021 UCI Road World Championships in Flanders, she was elected to a four-year term as a representative for road cycling on the Union Cycliste Internationale Athletes' Commission, winning 83 percent of the vote.
