Stephen Arthur Hurd (born January 25, 1968) is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 2000, with the release of, Minister Stephen A. Hurd & Corporate Worship, Vol. 1, that was released by Hurd the Word Music. His second album, In the Overflow, Vol. 2, was released by Integrity Music in 2001. The third release, A Call to Worship, was released by Integrity Records alongside Epic Records and Sony Urban in 2004. This would be his first album to breakthrough on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. He released his fourth album, My Destiny, with Integrity Music alongside Columbia Records in 2006, and this charted on the aforementioned chart. The fifth album, Times of Refreshing, released in 2008 with Integrity Music, again this charted on the aforementioned chart. His sixth album released in 2012 by HYW Music, O That Men Would Worship, and this charted on the aforementioned chart.

Early life

Hurd was born on January 25, [1] 1968, [2] as Stephen Arthur Hurd, [3] in Washington, D.C., [2] [4] where he was reared in the church. After graduating from The Duke Ellington School of the Arts, he attended Howard University. [2] He became an ordained minister in 1988, at which point he started leading worship services at local churches. [2] He has served as the Minister of Music at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden since May 2001. [5]

Music career

He began Corporate Worship in 1999, and they released a few albums under that moniker. [2] His solo music career started in 2000, with the release of Minister Stephen A. Hurd & Corporate Worship, Vol. 1 by Hurd the Word Music, [6] yet this failed to chart. [7] His subsequent album, In the Overflow, Vol. 2, was released by Integrity Music in 2001, [6] and this did not chart. [7] The next album, A Call to Worship, was released by Integrity Music alongside Epic Records and Sony Urban on June 8, 2004, [6] and this was his first release to break through on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart, at No. 15. [7] He released My Destiny, with Integrity Music in association with Columbia Records, on October 3, 2006, [6] and this peaked at No. 11 on the Gospel Albums chart. [7] The following album, Times of Refreshing, was released on October 14, 2008 by Integrity Music, [6] and this charted at No. 8 on the Gospel Albums chart. [7] His latest release, O That Men Would Worship, was released by HYW Music in 2012, [6] and the album again placed at No. 8 on the aforementioned chart. [7]

Hillsong Worship is a praise and worship collective from Sydney, Australia. They started making music in 1983 at Hillsong Church. Fifteen of their songs have appeared on the Billboard magazine charts in the US, with "What a Beautiful Name" (2016) representing their greatest success, reaching platinum in the US. He self-released We Are One in 2011. This album was listed on the Top Gospel Albums chart, along with the Heatseekers Albums chart. His fourth album, God Chaser, was released in 2013 on Verity. William David McDowell is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 2009, with the release of, As We Worship, by Entertainment One Music. This album would chart on three Billboard charts Gospel Albums, Independent Albums and Heatseekers Albums. His second album, Arise, was released in 2011 with Entertainment One. The album charted three Billboard charts again, this time The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums and Independent Albums. His third album, Withholding Nothing, was released in 2013, with Entertainment One. This album would chart on three charts The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums, and Independent Albums. He was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, for his third album.

Joseph W. Pace II is an American gospel musician. He started his music career in 1996, with Colorado Mass Choir. They have released 14 albums with 11 of them charting on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. Pace has released albums with several record labels including Zomba Records, Verity Records, Alliant Records, Word Records, Epic Records, Integrity Music, Columbia Records, NuSpring Music, Sony Music, and Tyscot Records.

Joel Wesley Morgan, who goes by the stage name Wess Morgan, is an American gospel musician, and pastor. He started his music career, in 2006, with the release of Look at Me Now by Oak Tree Records. His second album, Under an Open Heaven, Vol. 1, was released in 2010 by Bowtie World Music alongside Flipside Music, and this album was his Billboard magazine breakthrough release on the Gospel Albums chart. The song, "I Choose to Worship", was put on the WOW Gospel 2012 album. Pastor Alvin A. Darling is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1990, with the release of two albums by Savoy Records, I've Learned to Put My Trust in God and Expect a Miracle. His next album was released by I Am Records in 1992, Medley of Praise, and an album was released with GGI Records in 1994, Hold On...To The Promise. His next two albums, 1995's There's an Answer in Prayer and 1998's Blessing Coming Through for You, was released by Savoy Records. The next four albums, 2005's You Deserve My Worship, 2007's My Blessing Is on the Way, 2009's You Can Make It, and Waiting Right Here, was released by Emtro Gospel Records. He would get five of these album to chart upon the Billboard Gospel Albums chart, and two of them got placements on the Heatseekers Albums chart. His is a GMA Dove Awards and Stellar Awards nominated artist.

Todd Anthony Dulaney is an American gospel musician, and former baseball player. His music career started in 2011, with the release of the CD version, Pulling Me Through. This would be his breakthrough released upon the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. He would release another album, A Worshipper's Heart, in 2016 with EntertainmentOne Nashville, and this would place even higher on the Gospel Albums chart.

Keith Anthony Staten is an American gospel musician. He started his solo music career, in 1990, with the release of, From the Heart, by Lection Records. This was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. His subsequent album, No Greater Love, was released in 1995 by Glorious Music, but it failed to chart. The third album, Worship in the House, was released by Word Records in tandem with Epic Records in 1996, and this album charted on the Christian Albums chart. He released, Glory in the House, in 1995 with the aforementioned labels, however this time around it charted on the Gospel Albums chart.

Yardley Wendell Griffin, Jr. is an American gospel musician, urban contemporary gospel recording artist, and worship leader. He started his music career, in 2015, with the studio album, Hear Me Now, that was released by Black Market Blue Records. This album was his breakthrough released upon the Billboard magazine charts.

Brian Mark Johnson is an American contemporary worship musician and worship pastor. He is the president and co-founder of Bethel Music, as well as a member of its Artist Collective and is one-half of the husband-and-wife worship duo, Brian & Jenn Johnson. He is also a senior worship pastor at Bethel Church in Redding, California, and a Senior Overseer of WorshipU, an online school of worship under Bethel Music which he co-founded with Jenn Johnson.

Cory Hunter Asbury is an American Christian musician, worship pastor, songwriter, and former member of the Bethel Music collective.
