The Irish Sailing Association, also known as Irish Sailing, is the national governing body for sailing, powerboating and windsurfing in Ireland.
Robert Scheidt is a Brazilian sailor who has won two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze from five Olympic Games and a Star Sailors League Final. He is one of the most successful sailors at Olympic Games and one of the most successful Brazilian Olympic athletes, being one of only two to earn five medals along with fellow sailor Torben Grael, and the only Brazilian sailor to win medals in both dinghy and keelboat classes.
Peter O'Leary in Cork is an Irish sailor. At the 2008 Summer Olympics he competed in the men's star class, with Stephen Milne, and at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Men's Star class alongside David Burrows.
Pierre-Alexis Ponsot is a French sailor, who specialized in two-person keelboat (Star) class. He represented France, along with his partner and six-time Olympian Xavier Rohart at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and has also been training for Ouest Nautical Sports Club throughout most of his sporting career. As of September 2014, Leboucher is ranked forty-first in the world for fleet racing and keelboat by the International Sailing Federation, following his successes at the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships and 2012 Star World Championships.

Afonso Manuel Costa Gaspar da Silva Domingos is a Portuguese sailor, who specialized in mixed multihull and two-person keelboat (Star) classes. He represented his nation Portugal in three editions of the Olympic Games, and has been training throughout his sailing career for Cascais Naval Club in his current residence Cascais, under his personal coach Andy Zawija.
Eduardo Couto is a Brazilian former sailor, who specialized in the Laser Radial and Finn classes. He won a gold medal in the Laser Radial boat at the class-associated 2005 Worlds in Fortaleza, before switching to a heavyweight division on his only Olympic trip to Beijing 2008. Couto is a member of the Rio de Janeiro Yacht Club.
Toh Li Ying, also known as Toh Liying, is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the two-person dinghy (470) class. Together with her 17-year-old partner Deborah Ong, she was named one of the country's top sailors in the double-handed dinghy for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in a distant nineteenth place. Outside her Olympic career, Toh and her previous tandem Elizabeth Ong gave the Singaporeans a sterling silver medal in the women's 470 at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. While pursuing to complete her degree in biomedical sciences at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, Toh trained for the Games under the tutelage of her personal coach Craig Ferris.
Deborah Ong, also known as Ong Hui Min, is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the two-person dinghy (470) class. Together with her partner and 2006 Asian Games silver medalist Toh Liying, she was named one of the country's top sailors in the double-handed dinghy for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in a distant nineteenth place. A member of the Singapore Sailing Federation, Ong trained for the Games under the tutelage of her Australian-born personal coach Craig Ferris.
Yoon Cheul is a South Korean former sailor, who specialized in the two-person dinghy (470) class. He copped a bronze medal in the inaugural match-race keelboat at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha and was named one of the country's top sailors in the double-handed dinghy for two editions of the Summer Olympic Games, finishing each distantly within the top 25 range, respectively. A member of Boryeong City Hall's sailing club in Jeollanam-do's coastline, Yoon trained most of his sporting career under the national federation's head coach for the men's 470, three-time Olympian Petri Leskinen from Finland.

A member of the Royal Irish Yacht Club, Lawton trained for the Games under his personal coach and Owens' former partner from Athens 2004 Ross Killian.
Tobias Etter is a Swiss former sailor, who specialized in the two-person dinghy (470) class. Together with his partner Felix Steiger, he was named one of the country's top sailors in the double-handed dinghy for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in a distant twenty-third place. Outside his Olympic career, he and Steiger locked the podium spot with a bronze in the men's 470 at the 2005 Summer Universiade in İzmir, Turkey. Etter trained most of his sporting career at Schloss Greifensee Sailing Club in the outskirts of Zürich.

Johann "Hans" Spitzauer is an Austrian former sailor, who specialized in both Finn and Star classes. He was named the country's top Finn sailor in the first three editions of his Olympic career and came closest to the medal haul in Atlanta 1996, finishing in fourth place. After missing out his Sydney 2000 bid, he moved into the Star class and eventually partnered with Andreas Hanakamp to compete at his fourth Olympics in Athens 2004 and with Christian Nehammer at his fifth in Beijing 2008. Outside the Games, Spitzauer was deemed one of the world's most successful Finn sailors in the early to mid-1990s, receiving a complete set of medals with one in each color at the Finn Gold Cup and the Finn European Championships, respectively.

Johannes Sebastian Polgar is a German sailor, who specialized in the multihull (Tornado) and keelboat Star) classes. Together with his partner Florian Spalteholz, he was named one of the country's top sailors in the mixed multihull catamaran for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in eighth place. After the Games, Polgar decided to move into the Star class and eventually shared a gold-medal victory with his partner Markus Koy at the 2010 Europeans in Viareggio, Italy. A member of North German Regatta Club, Polgar trained most of his competitive sailing career under the tutelage of his Norwegian-born personal coach Rigo de Nijs.
Christophe Espagnon is a French sailor, who specialized in the multihull (Tornado) class. Together with his partner Xavier Revil, he was named one of the country's top sailors in the mixed multihull catamaran for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in a distant eleventh position. Outside his Olympic career, he and Revil gave the home crowd a further reason to celebrate with a bronze-medal finish at the 2005 Tornado Worlds in La Rochelle. A member of La Rochelle Sailing Regatta, Espagnon trained most of his competitive sporting career under the tutelage of his personal coach Philippe Neiras.
Pavlo Pavlovych Kalynchev is a Ukrainian former sailor, who specialized in the multihull (Tornado) class. Together with his partner Andriy Shafranyuk, he was named one of the country's top sailors in the mixed multihull catamaran for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in a distant thirteenth position. Throughout his competitive sporting career, Kalynchev trained as a member of the sailing squad for Ukraïna Mykolaïv.
