Fossen was born in Seattle, Washington, son of Fern and Norman Fossen. His mother was a nurse and his father served during World War II in the Signal Corps and then was a Merchant Marine stationed in Japan. [5] He attended Inglemoor High School, during which he began working as a musician in the Kenmore and Bothell area of Washington with his friend Roger Fisher. Fisher's older brother Mike was their manager and arranged for gigs and negotiated for gainful compensation. [6]
Fossen began playing bass professionally in 1965. [7] In 1967, he and schoolmate Roger Fisher started the band that would become Heart. Ann Wilson joined the group in 1971 followed by her sister Nancy two years later. [6] After completing the band's sixth album Private Audition in 1982, Fossen and Michael DeRosier left the group due to mismanagement and "creative differences". [5] Fossen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18, 2013, as a member of Heart. [6] [8]
Fossen and his current group Heart By Heart, with former Heart drummer Michael DeRosier continue to perform the songs that made the members of Heart famous. [6] [7] He has also been a member of Café Authors. [9]
Geddy Lee Weinrib is a Canadian musician, best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist for the rock group Rush. The Steve Miller Band is an American rock band formed in 1966 in San Francisco, California. The band is led by Steve Miller on guitar and lead vocals. The group had a string of mid- to late-1970s hit singles that are staples of classic rock, as well as several earlier psychedelic rock albums. Miller left his first band to move to San Francisco and form the Steve Miller Blues Band. Shortly after Harvey Kornspan negotiated the band's contract with Capitol Records in 1967, the band shortened its name to the Steve Miller Band. In February 1968, the band recorded its debut album, Children of the Future. It went on to produce the albums Sailor, Brave New World, Your Saving Grace, Number 5, Rock Love, Fly Like an Eagle, Book of Dreams, among others. The band's Greatest Hits 1974–78, released in 1978, sold over 13 million copies. In 2016, Steve Miller was inducted as a solo artist in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Inglemoor High School is a public high school located in Kenmore, Washington, United States. In 2022, the student population was approximately 1,550 students in grades 9–12. Starting from the 2017 school year, the school accommodates 9th grade as well. Inglemoor's feeder schools are Kenmore Middle School and Northshore Middle School, and Arrowhead, Kenmore, Lockwood, Moorlands, Shelton View, and Woodmoor Elementary Schools. In addition, Inglemoor accepts waivers due to the popularity of its International Baccalaureate program.
Clifford Williams is an English musician, best known as the bassist and backing vocalist of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. He started his professional music career in 1967 and had previously been in the English groups Home and Bandit. His first studio album with AC/DC was Powerage in 1978. Williams was inducted into the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of AC/DC in 2003. Williams announced his retirement from AC/DC in 2016, but returned for their 2020 comeback album Power Up along with band mates Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd. Inez has earned seven Grammy Award nominations as a member of Alice in Chains.
Head East is an American rock band from Illinois. The band was formed by singer John Schlitt, guitarist Danny Piper, keyboardist Roger Boyd, bassist Larry Boyd, and drummer Steve Huston. They met and formed the band while John, Roger, and Larry were studying at the University of Illinois, Steve was at Eastern Illinois University 45 miles away and Danny was not in college. Eventually both Larry and Danny dropped out of the band and were replaced by Mike Somerville (guitar) and Dan Birney (bass).
