Steve Jocz (born July 23, 1981), [3] also known as Stevo32 (or simply Stevo), is a Canadian-Australian drummer and YouTuber, best known as the original drummer for the Canadian rock band Sum 41.
Jocz joined Sum 41 in 1996. [4] Jocz graduated from Exeter High School in 1999. [5]
In 1999, the band signed an international record deal with Island Records. The band released their debut EP Half Hour of Power , in 2000. Their first album, All Killer No Filler , was released in 2001. The band achieved mainstream success with their first single from the album, "Fat Lip", which reached number-one on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and remains the band's most successful single to date. [6] All Killer No Filler was certified platinum in the United States, Canada and in the UK. [7] The band released four more studio albums with Jocz: Does This Look Infected? (2002), Chuck (2004) Underclass Hero (2007), and Screaming Bloody Murder (2011), the first three having been certified platinum in Canada.
Jocz frequently performed over 300 times per year with Sum 41, holding long global concert tours lasting more than a year each. [8] On April 18, 2013, Jocz announced on Facebook and Twitter that he had left Sum 41 with no explanation given. [9]
On May 10, 2023, after hearing that Sum 41 was planning to disband, [10] Jocz posted on Instagram a video of him playing the drums to their song "Still Waiting" as a tribute to the band. [11]
On October 10, 2023, Jocz was interviewed for the first time since his departure from Sum 41 in 2013. During the interview, he revealed to DJ Immortal of 99.9 Punk World Radio FM about his departure from the band, stating:
"I had a baby at home, I had a family at home, I had a new like little tiny person and I think for me personally, I was burnt out – all the touring, all the partying – it got to the point I wasn't happy anymore". [12]
Aside from drums, Jocz sang lead vocals for the Sum 41 alter-ego heavy metal band Pain For Pleasure, where the members of Sum 41 would parody a 1980s metal band.
In 2008, Jocz became a contributing member of the Sum 41 spin-off band The Operation M.D., co-created by Sum 41 bassist Jason "Cone" McCaslin before leaving the band in 2012. He helped the band out again in 2017 as a contributing member.
In 2007, Jocz recorded drums for two songs on Avril Lavigne's album, The Best Damn Thing .
In the summer of 2008, Jocz toured with The Vandals on the Vans Warped Tour. [13] [14]
Jocz again helped The Vandals on drums for some European dates in the summer of 2018. [15] He toured with The Vandals again for some Japanese dates in March 2024. [16]
In June 2024, Jocz began a YouTube channel, called Stevo32Drums. [17]

They have released ten full-length studio albums, three live albums, 3 live DVDs and have toured the world extensively, including performances on the Vans Warped Tour. They are well known for their use of humor, preferring to use their music as a vehicle for comedy and sarcasm rather than as a platform for more serious issues. Kung Fu Records, founded in 1996 by Escalante and Fitzgerald has signed and launched many punk rock bands.
Sum 41 is a Canadian rock band from Ajax, Ontario. The band was formed in 1996 and currently consists of Deryck Whibley, Dave Baksh, Jason McCaslin, Tom Thacker, and Frank Zummo.
Half Hour of Power is the debut extended play by Canadian rock band Sum 41. It was released on June 27, 2000 on Big Rig Records, a subsidiary of Island Records, and Aquarius Records (Canada). The cover features the band's then-drummer Steve Jocz aiming a Nerf gun up in the air and standing in front of an explosion in the background. Though officially an EP, Half Hour of Power may also be considered the band's debut studio album. Most of the songs featured on the EP were included as bonus tracks on Sum 41's actual debut studio album All Killer No Filler (2001), which featured a re-recorded version of Half Hour of Power's sixth track "Summer". This is the second of three times that this song was featured on a Sum 41 album. It first appeared on their 1998 demo tape. The group originally planned to include different versions of the song on each of their albums as a joke, but scrapped the idea after All Killer No Filler, as they felt that it would annoy their fanbase.

Deryck Jason Whibley, nicknamed Bizzy D, is a Canadian musician, best known for his work as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, main songwriter, producer, founder and only constant member of the rock band Sum 41.
Dave Baksh also known by his stage name Dave Brownsound, is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter best known as the lead guitarist of rock band Sum 41. Baksh quit Sum 41 in 2006 to pursue his own career in his heavy metal/reggae project Brown Brigade. He rejoined Sum 41 in 2015 and has released three subsequent studio albums with the band. He also plays guitar for Organ Thieves, with two of his fellow Brown Brigade members and the Canadian deathpunk four-piece Black Cat Attack. In 2019, Baksh co-founded the merchandise company Loud & Immortal.
Jason "Cone" McCaslin is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer, serving as the bassist and backing vocalist of the band Sum 41. He and frontman Deryck Whibley are the only two members of the band to appear on every studio album.

Thomas William Arnold Thacker, nicknamed Brown Tom, is a Canadian musician, songwriter, and producer. He is the lead guitarist, lead singer and co-founder of the punk rock group Gob, and guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist for Sum 41. Thacker formed Gob with Theo Goutzinakis in 1993. Following Dave Baksh's departure from Sum 41 on May 11, 2006, Thacker was recruited as their touring guitarist, and then became an official member in 2009. He has remained with Sum 41 ever since, even after Baksh rejoined the band in 2015, contributing to four studio releases.

It is the band's last album to be released on Island Records before they had fulfilled their contract with the major label in 2016 and their first album not to be released on Aquarius Records, which they left in 2010. The album has received mixed reviews.

13 Voices is the sixth studio album by Canadian rock band Sum 41, released on October 7, 2016. It is the first of two albums by the band to be released through independent label Hopeless Records. It is also Sum 41's first album to feature drummer Frank Zummo, who replaced original drummer Steve Jocz, and their first album to feature guitarist Tom Thacker. The album also features the return of longtime lead guitarist Dave "Brownsound" Baksh. The album is also their first as a five-piece band. On May 11, 2016, the band announced that they had signed to Hopeless Records to release the crowd-funded project.
