Steven Charleston (born February 15, 1949) is a retired American Episcopal bishop and academic. He was bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Alaska from 1991 to 1996, and dean of Episcopal Divinity School, from 1999 to 2008. [1]
Charleston was born and grew up in Oklahoma and is a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. In 1971 he received a bachelor's degree in religion from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, followed by a master's degree in divinity from Episcopal Divinity School in 1976. [1]
He later worked in Native American ministries and held various teaching positions. [1]
In 1999, following the divisions exposed by the previous year's Lambeth Conference, he was the author of the Cambridge Accord: an attempt to reach agreement on at least the human rights of homosexual people, notwithstanding controversy within the Anglican Communion about the churches' views of homosexuality. [2]
As of 2017 Charleston was adjunct professor of Native American ministries at Saint Paul School of Theology, based at Oklahoma City University. [3] Via the web at the same time he described himself as a "Native American elder, author, and retired Episcopal bishop", and maintained a public presence through his Facebook page of daily spiritual reflections. [4] He has self-published several volumes of these reflections, plus two novels of a planned trilogy, through his company Red Moon Publications. [5]
Joseph Louis Bernardin was an American Cardinal of the Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Cincinnati from 1972 until 1982, and as Archbishop of Chicago from 1982 until his death in 1996 from pancreatic cancer. Bernardin was elevated to the cardinalate in 1983 by Pope John Paul II.

Catherine Elizabeth Maples Waynick is an American Anglican bishop. She was the 10th bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis from 1997 to 2017. She was elected bishop coadjutor of the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis in January 1997, was consecrated on June 7 of that year, and became the diocesan bishop on September 10, 1997. She succeeded Edward W. Jones, who served from 1977 to 1997. At the 2015 diocesan convention, Waynick announced plans to retire, and called for the election of a new bishop to be consecrated in 2017. She was succeeded by Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows on April 29, 2017. Waynick was called to serve as provisional bishop for the Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Michigan on October 21, 2017, serving until 2019.

Finis Alonzo Crutchfield Jr. was a noted American clergyman and a bishop in the United Methodist Church. He began his pastoral career after graduating from Duke University Divinity School in 1940. His first assignment was First United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He remained there until he was sent to Norman, Oklahoma, in 1950. Ten years later he became senior pastor at Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa. He was credited with bringing Oral Roberts into the Methodist Church and served as a negotiator in the 1968 merger of the Methodist Church with the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Edward J. Konieczny was the fifth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma, United States. After studies at Church Divinity School of the Pacific, he was ordained to the diaconate and priesthood in 1994. He was elected bishop on May 5, 2007, and consecrated as such September 15, 2007. He served until his successor was installed in August 2020. In 2022, he was appointed by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt to the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board, replacing Adam Luck, whom the governor had asked to step down.
