Club career

Born in Montreuil, Seine-Saint-Denis, Thicot was trained at the Clairefontaine academy and was part of the France national youth football team that won the 2004 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship. [2] He signed for Nantes in 2003, but he did not play for their first team. He was loaned to Sedan for the 2006–07 season, for whom he appeared three times in Ligue 1, but he was eventually released by Nantes in June 2008. [3]

Hibernian

Thicot went on trial with Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, for whom he appeared as a substitute in a pre-season friendly against FC Barcelona. [3] He signed for Hibernian on 29 July 2008, and made his Scottish Premier League debut in the 1–0 defeat at Kilmarnock in early August. Thicot had to be substituted after just 33 minutes due to a thigh injury that kept him out of action for "weeks". [4] He returned to the team in a 2–1 win at Aberdeen, but was again substituted. [5]

Thicot became a regular under Mixu Paatelainen, but the Finnish manager left Hibs at the end of the 2008–09 season. John Hughes, who was appointed to replace Paatelainen, initially gave Thicot fewer opportunities in the team; Thicot made his first appearance of the 2009–10 season in January.[ citation needed ] Thicot continued to feature in the team infrequently under Colin Calderwood, and was advised in April 2011 that his contract would not be renewed. [6]

Thicot then signed for Portuguese club Naval. [7]

Dinamo București

In August 2013, Thicot signed a contract for three years with Romanian club Dinamo București. [8] He scored his first goal for Dinamo on 6 October, in a match against Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț. [9]

Back in Portugal: Belenenses and Tondela

In the 2014–15 season Thicot played for Belenenses Lisabon and helped them to finish 7th in Portugal Liga NOS. In the first half of the 2015–16 season Thicot was without club, eventually he signed for Tondela in January 2016, in that time last placed club in Portugal League, but they succeed to stay in league with series of good results in second half of season and finally won in last round and secure their place in top league.

Charlotte

In March 2019, he moved to Charlotte Independence. [10]

Lithuania: FK Kauno Žalgiris

On 3 March 2020 m. in their official website FK Kauno Žalgiris announced the signing the French player. [11] The club finished 4th last season in the domestic league, and it is promising an opportunity to play in 2020–21 UEFA Europa League. After season of 2021 he left FK Kauno Žalgiris. [12]

Clyde

On 12 May 2022, Thicot made his return to Scotland and penned a one-year deal with Scottish League One side Clyde. [13]

Season 2007–08 for Hibernian could be split into three distinct parts: a great unbeaten start to the Scottish Premier League season that temporarily took the club to the top of the league; a terrible middle phase which saw a long winless run and the resignation of John Collins as Hibs manager; and, finally, a modest recovery under the management of Mixu Paatelainen, who was appointed in January 2008. This took Hibs into the top half of the SPL, but short of third place and the UEFA Cup spot, which was won by Motherwell.

Scott Robertson (footballer, born 1985) Scottish footballer and coach

Scott Robertson is a Scottish football coach and former player, who currently serves as a coach at Dundee. He also represented Scotland twice in full international matches.

Season 2008–09 for Hibernian was their tenth consecutive season of play in the Scottish Premier League. The SPL season began on 9 August 2008 with a 1–0 defeat at Kilmarnock. The team were eliminated from each cup competition at the first hurdle, due to defeats by IF Elfsborg in the last Intertoto Cup, Greenock Morton in the Scottish League Cup and Edinburgh derby rivals Hearts in the Scottish Cup. The team was inconsistent in the league, and only squeezed into the top six by a single point ahead of Motherwell. This led to the resignation of manager Mixu Paatelainen at the end of the season. One bright spot for the club was the performance of the under-19 team, which won the Scottish league & cup double.

Hibernian, one of the most prominent clubs in Scottish football, was founded in 1875. The club was named in honour of the Roman name for Ireland and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The club has competed in the top division of Scottish football in all but four seasons since they first gained entry to the top division in 1895. Hibernian have been Scottish champions four times, most recently in 1952. The club has also been champions of the second tier six times, most recently in 2017. Hibernian have won the Scottish Cup three times, the last time in 2016. This win ended a drought of 114 years and ten cup finals lost since 1902. The club has won the League Cup three times, most recently when they defeated Kilmarnock 5–1 in 2007.

Season 2005–06 was a season of missed opportunities for Hibernian. The team started strongly in the league, winning 10 of their first 14 games, but this form dipped after Christmas. The Scottish Cup seemed to be opening up for Hibs after they defeated Rangers 3–0 at Ibrox in the fourth round, but they then lost 4–0 in an Edinburgh derby semi–final against Hearts. Hibs lost 3–0 in the quarter–final of the Scottish League Cup at Dunfermline, and were well beaten by Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the UEFA Cup.

Season 2009–10 for Hibernian was their eleventh consecutive season of play in the Scottish Premier League. The SPL season began on 15 August 2009, with a 2–1 win against St Mirren at home. After a very strong start to the season in which they challenged for the league leadership, Hibs then had a slump in form in the later part of the season. The team eventually secured a Europa League place via finishing fourth in the SPL by winning 2–0 on the final day at Tannadice. Hibs were eliminated from the Scottish Cup in a quarter final replay by Ross County and were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup in the third round by St Johnstone.
