Steven T. Yavarow is the former President of the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association ("MICCA") and a former Music Director of Hopkinton Music Association, Hopkinton, Massachusetts' award-winning music program. [1]
Yavarow has led Hopkinton High School's Concert Band to medal-winning performances at festivals across Massachusetts and internationally. Despite having an arguably "controversial" approach to music education, his work has consistently been praised by both students and critics.
Yavarow is also known for his philanthropic work, awarding over fifty scholarships to gifted music students across Massachusetts.
Mr. Yavarrow retired in 2014 [2] , but continues to teach budding students (Brandon Fu) in his community. He continues to be involved with youth ensembles across the state.
Robert Lawson Shaw was an American conductor most famous for his work with his namesake Chorale, with the Cleveland Orchestra and Chorus, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. He was known for drawing public attention to choral music through his wide-ranging influence and mentoring of younger conductors, the high standard of his recordings, his support for racial integration in his choruses, and his support for modern music, winning many awards throughout his career.

Previous championships were held at the Cawley Memorial Stadium in Lowell, Massachusetts. Championships are now held at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Its current President is Mike Keough. Previous presidents included Dave Gresko and Steven Yavarow.

Natick High School is an urban/suburban public high school serving students in grades 9 to 12 in Natick, Massachusetts, United States. The school is located on the banks of Dug Pond. Its enrollment was 1,603 students during the 2015–2016 school year. The original building was built in 1953 at approximately 189,000 sq ft (17,600 m2). and opened in 1954. The building was expanded in 1965. Additional renovations took place in 1985. In 2010, the town voted to replace the Natick High School building. The new facility was constructed on the fields immediately to the south of the former building. Demolition on the former building began on June 25, 2012. The new building design is based on a model approved by the state of Massachusetts. This was necessary in order to maximize state reimbursement for design and construction; it cost $78 million. The new high school opened to students on August 29, 2012.

From 1999 to 2020 he served as artistic director of The Australian Children's Choir, and for a decade was Director of the Australian Catholic University Melbourne Campus Choir. He is a former president of the Australian Intervarsity Choral Societies Association, and is a former Artistic Administrator and artistic director of The Chamber Strings of Melbourne.
