Subhanpura is an urban area in the western side of Vadodara City, in the state of Gujarat, in India.
Vadodara is the third-largest city in the Indian state of Gujarat, after Ahmedabad and Surat. It is the administrative headquarters of Vadodara District and is located on the banks of the Vishwamitri river, 141 kilometres (88 mi) from the state capital Gandhinagar. The railway line and NH 8 that connect Delhi and Mumbai pass through Vadodara. It is known as a Sanskari Nagari (city) of India.
Gujarat is a state on the western coast of India with a coastline of 1,600 km (990 mi) – most of which lies on the Kathiawar peninsula – and a population in excess of 60 million. It is the fifth largest Indian state by area and the ninth largest state by population. Gujarat ranks fifteenth among Indian states in human development index.

It was a small village, which has merged with the ever growing western part of Vadodara city. Subhanpura is largely residencial with a few shopping malls and cinemas. The majority of the population are workers from the nearby Gujarat Refinery and Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited.
The Gujarat Refinery is an oil refinery located at Koyali in Gujarat, Western India. It is the second largest refinery owned by Indian Oil Corporation after Panipat Refinery. The refinery is currently under projected expansion to 18 MMTPA.
Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (IPCL) was a petrochemicals company in India. It was established on 22 March 1969, with a view to promote and encourage the use of plastics in India. Its business consists of polymers, synthetic fibre, fibre intermediaries, solvents, surfactants, industrial chemicals, catalysts, adsorbents, and polyesters. The Company operated three petrochemical complexes, a naphtha based complex at Vadodara and gas based complex each at Nagothane near Mumbai and at Dahej on Narmada estuary in bay of Khambhat. The Company also operates a catalyst manufacturing facility at Vadodara. Its turnover for the financial year 2005-06 has crossed the US $2 billion mark.
