Dolichopus discifer is a European species of fly in family Dolichopodidae. It is sometimes stated to be a synonym of Dolichopus nigricornisMeigen, 1824, but according to Collin (1940) this synonymy should not be accepted, and the probable type of D. nigricornis was Hercostomus gracilis(Stannius, 1831).

Dytomyia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is known from Australia, Madagascar and Kenya, with an undescribed species from Papua New Guinea.
Lichtwardtia is a genus of fly in the family Dolichopodidae. It is considered to be a synonym of Dolichopus by Scott E. Brooks (2005), but not by other authors. Before this, it was considered a possible subgenus of Pterostylus by Oleg Negrobov (1979).
Mesorhaga is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Nurteria is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, found in the Afrotropical realm. Three species are currently known in the genus, but there are also numerous undescribed species of the genus from southern Africa. It was originally described in the subfamily Diaphorinae, though it possesses some features of the Sympycninae.
Sybistroma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes over 50 species, described mainly from the Palaearctic and Oriental realms. A single species is known from the Afrotropical realm. Until 2005, the genus was thought to be restricted to the Mediterranean in distribution, with five known species. It was recently expanded to include the former genera Hypophyllus, Ludovicius and Nordicornis, as well as some species of Hercostomus.
Tenuopus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is the only genus in the subfamily Tenuopodinae, which was created by Igor Grichanov in 2018. The genus was previously placed in the subfamily Neurigoninae, and it also shares some features of Peloropeodinae and Sciapodinae. All species are known from the Afrotropical realm.
Dolichopodinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Afroparaclius is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes two species from Africa formerly placed in Paracleius.
Igor Yakovlevich Grichanov is a Russian entomologist and ecologist. As a taxonomist, he specialised on Diptera notably Dolichopodidae. He joined the staff of the All-Russian Institute of Plant Protection in 1981. From 1990 he is the Head of the Laboratory of Phytosanitary Diagnostics and Forecasts. He wrote over 470 scientific papers (1979-2016). Не has described 26 new genera and over 400 new species of flies.
Poecilobothrus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Aphasmaphleps is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae from the Afrotropical realm. The genus was first described by Igor Grichanov in 2010. The name Aphasmaphleps refers to the genus Phasmaphleps, which was originally considered to be closely related to it. According to Capellari & Grichanov (2012), Aphasmaphleps more closely resembles Asyndetus and Cryptophleps.
Prohercostomus is an extinct genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, known from Baltic amber from the Eocene. It was originally created as a subgenus of Hercostomus, but was later raised to genus rank.
