Submers is an album by Canadian musician Scott Morgan under the alias of Loscil. It was released in 2002 by Kranky.
Large portions of the music on Submbers was from classical music that had been sampled and distorted by Morgan. [1] AllMusic described the sound on Submbers as not being very different from than Morgan's previous album Triple Point, noting that the "only significant difference is the emphasis on waves of rhythm over thumps and pulses." [2]
Each track on Submers is named after a submarine. [2] These ranged from early submarines such as the Gymnote to the Russian submarine Kursk (K-141).
Submers was released by Kranky via compact disc on November 4, 2002. [3] [4] The album was reissued on vinyl for the first time on November 23, 2018 by Kranky. [5]

AllMusic gave the album four and a half stars out of five, stating that the album "tops Morgan's impressive debut and provides further proof that the field of ambient techno continues to have plenty to offer" [2] Pitchfork Media gave the album an 8.0 rating out of a possible 10, noting that "the delicate touches are what really make it." [7] Exclaim! praised the album for "spellbinding songs and creating a continuously absorbing record" and that "Submers resonates with remarkable elegance from its opening tones to its closing echoes" [8]
Reviewing the reissue in 2018, Rob Nay of Exclaim! noted that "These low end-heavy grooves sound perfectly aquatic on wax; kudos are in order for Kranky, who have polished up an already glistening gem for further appreciation." [6]

Richard D. James Album is the eponymous fourth studio album by British electronic musician Richard D. James, under his pseudonym Aphex Twin. In the United Kingdom, the album was released on 4 November 1996 through Warp. In the United States, it was released on 28 January 1997 by Sire Records, with the Girl/Boy EP included as bonus tracks. A reissue on vinyl was released on 18 September 2012.

Loscil is the electronic/ambient music project of Scott Morgan from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Morgan launched the project in Vancouver in 1998 while a member of the multimedia collective Multiplex, which curated audiovisual events at an underground cinema called The Blinding Light. The name Loscil is taken from the "looping oscillator" function (loscil) in Csound.
Big Apple Rappin' is a 2006 compilation album released on Soul Jazz Records. The album is a compilation of the early days of New York hip hop by Johan Kugelberg, who had collected early hip hop material, specifically records flyers and fanzines and other memorabilia with the idea to donate them to an academic institution. The music Kugelberg gathered for the compilation surrounded hip hop music released around the period "Rapper's Delight" became a hit song. The music is predominantly hip hop with a disco backing tracks which Kugelberg described as "the first great records." Along with the music, photography and flyers were compiled from the era, as well as interviews with DJs and rappers such as Grandmaster Caz and Glen Adams.
