Such Gold is an American punk rock band from Rochester, New York, United States, currently consisting of Ben Kotin on guitar and vocals, Nate Derby on guitar, Jon Markson on bass and vocals and Matt Covey on drums.
Such Gold formed officially in 2009, and self-released Demo 2009 in the Spring of that year.
The band signed to Mightier Than Sword Records in June 2009 and released a CD EP/7” titled “Stand Tall” in August 2009.
In Spring 2010 Such Gold announced signing to 6131 Records and recorded their new CD EP/12”, titled “Pedestals” ; “Pedestals” was released digitally in September 2010, and physically in November 2010.
A series of split 7”s were announced in early 2011, including a split with Into It. Over It., released in May 2011 and a split with A Loss for Words, released November 2011. The splits were released as a collaboration between Mightier Than Sword Records and No Sleep Records, with the A Loss For Words split also being released on CD in Japan via Ice Grill$ Records.
Such Gold has toured the US extensively, have toured in Australia, Japan, UK/EU, Canada and Costa Rica, and have played a number of festivals including The Fest, Sound and Fury, Bled Fest, SXSW, Fragile Joe's House of Metal Fest, Blood Sweat and Beers and Groezrock.
The band signed to Razor & Tie records in July 2011, and announced an album to be released some time in 2012. In January 2012, Such Gold traveled to Los Angeles, California to record with highly acclaimed producer Steve Evetts. The album was Misadventures and was released on August 14, 2012.
In June 2013, it was announced that Skylar Sarkis left the band. Singer Ben Kotin has taken over on guitar.
Misadventures reached No. 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. [1]
In May 2014, the band announced the departure of drummer and founding member Devan Bentley, to be replaced by former Shai Hulud drummer, and current The Hempsteadys drummer, Matt Covey. [2] Such Gold also announced they had entered The Blasting Room with producer Bill Stevenson to record their follow-up LP to 2012's Misadventures. [3]
On September 9, 2016 the band released a compilation album on Bird Attack Records featuring their EP Pedestals and their splits with Into It. Over It. and A Loss For Words. The tracks from Pedestals have been remixed and remastered.
Their third EP, Deep in a Hole, produced and engineered by the band's bassist Jon Markson and mixed/mastered by The Blasting Room's Jason Livermore, marked a continuation in their exploration of math rock sensibility, over a pop-punk and melodic hardcore backbone.[ citation needed ] The EP was released on September 8, 2017 on Bird Attack Records.

The band has released eight studio albums, two EPs, and one live album.
Pist.On is an American heavy metal band from Staten Island, New York. The band released two albums in the 1990s. They split up in 2001 but announced a reunion in 2015.
Exhumed is an American deathgrind band
formed in San Jose, California, that is currently signed to Relapse Records. It is centered around vocalist-guitarist Matt Harvey, who is the leading force of the group, as well as the sole constant member. The band has released nine albums and eight split 7-inch singles. They were formed in 1990, went on hiatus in 2005, and reformed in 2010.
Relient K is an American rock band formed in 1998 in Canton, Ohio, by Matt Thiessen, Matt Hoopes, and Brian Pittman during their third year in high school and time at Malone University. The band is named after guitarist Hoopes' automobile, a Plymouth Reliant K car, with the spelling intentionally altered to avoid trademark infringement over the Reliant name.
Bane was an American hardcore punk band that began in 1995 as a side project between Aaron Dalbec and Damon Bellorado. Dalbec approached Matt Firestone to sing and they played under the moniker of Gateway for a few shows, before Firestone parted ways to focus on other projects. Dalbec then approached Aaron Bedard about singing for Bane. They went into the studio in December 1995 with a few friends and released a five-song demo. The next year saw the release of their first EP, and many shows throughout central Massachusetts. In early 1997, Bane released Free to Think, Free to Be EP, and in 1998 the band released the Holding This Moment 7" and CD collection, and embarked upon their first US tour. Like many other hardcore bands, Bane are known for their promotion of tolerance and unity within the scene.
Church of Misery is a Japanese doom metal band from Tokyo, formed in 1995. Church of Misery's musical style melds early Black Sabbath-style doom with psychedelic rock; most of the band's songs are about serial killers and mass murderers.
Cynic is an American progressive metal band formed in Miami, Florida by Paul Masvidal in 1987. Masvidal originally served solely as the band's guitarist, but later took over as lead vocalist and chief songwriter. Cynic incorporates elements of progressive rock, alternative, and metal.
Noah and the Whale were a British indie rock and folk band from Twickenham, formed in 2006 and dissolved in 2015. The band's last line-up consisted of Charlie Fink, Tom Hobden (violin/keyboards), Matt "Urby Whale" Owens, Fred Abbott (guitar/keys) and Michael Petulla (drums). Doug Fink (drums), the brother of lead singer Charlie, and Laura Marling were also past members of the band.

The Wonder Years is an American rock band from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, formed in July 2005. The band currently consists of Dan "Soupy" Campbell, Casey Cavaliere, Matt Brasch, Josh Martin, Nick Steinborn and Mike Kennedy. They have released seven full-length albums, two EPs, and several splits/compilations. The group is currently signed to Hopeless Records. Their name originates from a paper that Campbell read that was written by one of his after-school educators titled "The Wonder Years."

Transit was an American rock band from Stoneham, Massachusetts. From their formation in 2006 to their split in 2016, they released five albums, four EPs, and a split EP with Man Overboard. Although they largely took influence from emo acts such as Saves the Day, Death Cab for Cutie, American Football, Fairweather, Lifetime, and Hot Water Music their sound transformed from a fusion of pop punk and contemporary emo from their early releases into an indie rock sound by their final release, Joyride.
Misadventures is the full-length debut album by pop punk/hardcore band Such Gold. The album was released on August 14, 2012 through Razor and Tie Records. The album was praised by critics and fans a like and is a major stepping stone for the upcoming band, and it was a more mature album compared to the band's previous releases; Pedestals, Stand Tall, and the split with Into It Over It. The album was released on 12" records, compact discs, as well as digital download, and the first single "Storyteller" was also released on a 7" inch record, with the B-side being "Locked Out of the Magic Theater." To promote the album the band went on a headlining tour with Mixtapes and Citizen.

Chimaira is an American heavy metal band from Cleveland, Ohio. Formed in August 1998, the band's name is derived from the word Chimera, a monstrous creature in Greek mythology. Throughout its history, the band had numerous line-up changes, leaving vocalist Mark Hunter as the only constant member. The band dissolved in 2014, but announced a reunion in 2017 and a return in 2023 with most of the group's longtime members rejoined.

Overcome are an American Christian metalcore band. They come from Phoenix, Arizona. The band started making music in 1993 until their decade-long hiatus from 2000 to 2010, when they commenced making music again. Tooth & Nail Records released the band's first two albums, Blessed Are the Persecuted in 1996 and When Beauty Dies in 1997. Facedown Records has released the other albums from the band signed the band. They released Immortal Until Their Work Is Done in 1999, More Than Death in 2001, The Great Campaign of Sabotage in 2011, and No Reserves. No Retreats. No Regrets. in 2013. They were one of the first "Spirit-Filled Hardcore" bands, along with Unashamed, Focused, Strongarm, and Zao. They were the first band signed to Facedown Records. The band is playing at Facedown Fest 2017.
