Sudhhasatwa Basu (born 1963) is an Indian chemical engineer. He is a former director [2] of Council of Scientific Industrial Research - Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) in Bhubaneswar, India, and is professor of chemical engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, adjunct professor, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai and professor of AcSIR. His research interests include electrokinetic and electrochemical phenomena in fuel cells. [3]
Suddhasatwa Basu was born on 5 January 1963. He completed a B.Tech from University of Calcutta in 1987 and a Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1993 in chemical engineering.
He worked as postdoctoral research fellow and visiting faculty in the department of Chemical & Material Engineering at University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (1994 –1997). He also worked on oil sands extraction technology at the University of Alberta and closely involved in various projects.
In 1998, after completion of his research, he joined IIT Delhi, New Delhi as assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
He is professor (Higher Academic Grade), IIT Delhi, where he worked as head of the chemical engineering department from 2012 to 2015 and associate dean of R&D, IIT Delhi from 2016 to 2017.
He served director of Council of Scientific Industrial Research - Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) from 2018 (on lien from IIT Delhi) with professor, Faculty of Engineering Sciences, AcSIR and adjunct professor (since 2019) in the department of chemical engineering at Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai till 2023.
He was visiting professor at the University of Alberta, Canada in 2000 and 2002, University of Newcastle, Australia 2005, University Karlsruhe (KIT), Germany 2006 and University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK 2008 and 2010. His broad research interests [3] are in the area of Interfacial and Electrochemical Engineering and their application in hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology. He has addressed the issues coming out of the nexus between energy and the environment. His works on development of direct alcohol and glucose PEM and AEM Fuel Cells, PEMFC diagnostics, solid oxide fuel cells, as the source of renewable energy sources and removal ionic dyes from water by reverse micelles selectively, reuse of dye and solvent, CO2 conversion to chemical fuels and dye mineralization by photocatalysis, as environmentally benign technologies.
He has published more than 180 articles in high impact factor journals, 28 conferences, and 8 patents. He won the Herdillia Award [4] in 2016 and FITT [5] award for best thesis at IIT Delhi in Chemical Engineering.

He is a visiting fellow of Royal Society, UK, DAAD fellow, UKIERI [6] award, Distinguish Alumni Award from Chemical Engineering Department, Calcutta University, FITT [5] award for best thesis at IIT Delhi.
Dr. Srikumar Banerjee was an Indian metallurgical engineer. He retired as the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India (AECI) and the secretary of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) on 30 April 2012. Prior to his stint as DAE chairman, he was the director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) from 30 April 2004 to 19 May 2010. He had also served as a DAE Homi Bhabha Chair Professor at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. He was known as a great physical metallurgist.

Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) is an advanced research institute in the field of mineralogy to materials engineering, established in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It was established in 1964 by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. Bikramjit Basu is currently a full professor at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, specializing in Engineering Ceramics and Biomaterials Science. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for science and technology, the highest science award in India, for the year 2013 in engineering science category. The prize was awarded for his "outstanding contributions encompassing theory and experiments to significantly expand our understanding of the in vitro cell functionality modulation on engineered bio-materials using electric field simulation approach". With a team of clinicians and entrepreneurs, he is actively involved in translating his research into implantable biomedical devices for orthopedic and dental restorative applications and currently leading a center of Excellence at IISc, Bangalore. In 2015, he received the National Bioscience award. Besides, Prof. Basu is also involved in development of Zirconum diboride based UHTCs.
Gangan Prathap is an Indian scientist/engineer specialising in structural mechanics, composite material, finite elements and information science. After his graduation in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Madras, he was with National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, for about twenty years serving the laboratory as scientist at several levels. In April 2000, he took over as Scientist-in-Charge, CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation and held that position till January 2008. He had also served as the Vice-Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology, for a short period from February 2008 to February 2009. After leaving CUSAT, Prathap took charge as director of National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR), and continued in that position till his retirement on superannuation from government service. Since August 2013, he has held the position of Outstanding Scientist at National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram. He is also an Honorary Professor of A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University.
Kasturi Lal Chopra was an Indian materials physicist and a director of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He was the founder of the Thin Film Laboratory at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and the Microscience Laboratory at IIT, Kharagpur and held several US and Indian patents for his research findings. Author of a number of books on thin film technology, he was a recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, the highest Indian award in the science and technology categories. Balasubramanian Viswanathan also known as BV, is a highly accomplished Indian material scientist, an emeritus professor at IIT Madras and husband of late Vijayalakshmi Viswanathan, the first woman financial commissioner of Indian Railways. He is well known in the field of catalysis and material science and has been instrumental in setting up and running the first National Centre for Catalysis Research at IIT Madras. Avinash Kumar Agarwal is director of Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur. He is an Indian mechanical engineer, tribologist and a professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He is known for his studies on internal combustion engines, Emissions, alternate fuels and CNG engines and is an elected fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (2013), Society of Automotive Engineers, US (2012), National Academy of Science, Allahabad (2018), Royal Society of Chemistry, UK (2018), International Society for Energy, Environment and Sustainability (2016), and Indian National Academy of Engineering (2015). The Castner Gold Medal on Industrial Electrochemistry is an biennial award given by the Electrochemical Technology Group of Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) to an authority on applied electrochemistry or electrochemical engineering connected to industrial research. The award is named in honor of Hamilton Castner, a pioneer in the field of industrial electrochemistry, who patented in 1892 the mercury cell for the chloralkali process. Castner was an early member of SCI.
Chokkanathapuram Venkataraman Sundaram was an Indian chemical metallurgist, best known for the commissioning of the Fast Breeder Test Reactor at Kalpakkam. He was the director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR). He was a recipient of the Sanjay Gandhi Award for Science and Technology as well as the National Metallurgists Day Award and an elected fellow of the Indian National Science Academy, the Indian Academy of Sciences and the Indian National Academy of Engineering. Binoy Kumar Saikia is a principal scientist at North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat (NEIST), Assam, India. He is also the head of Coal & Energy Division of NEIST.
