Suman Sharma is a former Indian basketball player. She received the Arjuna Award in 1983 in basketball for her achievements in the field of sports. She was the first woman Arjuna awardee in basketball. [1] Sharma is the first vice chairman of the Indian Basketball Players Association. [2]

Radhey Shyam Vijayrania was an Indian basketball player who represented India at the 1980 Summer Olympics and the 1982 Asian Games in Delhi. He was the second best scorer from the Indian team averaging 14 points after the leading scorer Ajmer Singh Chopra at the 1980 Olympics. He was a recipient of the Arjuna Award for his achievements. He died in 2006 at the age of 53 at his native village Sri Madhopur in Rajasthan.

Eliza Nelson, née Eliza Mendonca, is an Indian field hockey player and a former captain of the women's national field hockey team of India. Born in a Goan family on 27 September 1956 at Pune in the Indian state of Maharashtra, Nelson played for the Indian Railways and led the Indian national team that won the gold medal at the 9th Asian Games held at New Delhi in 1982. She was also a member of the team that secured fourth place at the Moscow 1980 Summer Olympics. She received the Arjuna Award in 1981 and the Government of India awarded her the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1983.

Sunita Sharma is an Indian gymnast from Ambala, Haryana. She won the Arjuna Award in 1985 for her achievements in gymnastics.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award</span> Indian adventure sports award

The Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award, formerly known as the National Adventure Awards is the highest adventure sports honour of the Republic of India. The award is named after Tenzing Norgay, one of the first two individuals to reach the summit of Mount Everest along with Edmund Hillary in 1953. It is awarded annually by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The recipients are honoured for their "outstanding achievement in the field of adventure activities on land, sea and air" over the last three years. The lifetime achievement is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated excellence and have devoted themselves in the promotion of adventure sports. As of 2020, the award comprises "a bronze statuette of Tenzing Norgay along with a cash prize of 15 lakh (US$19,000)."
