Chief Alhaji Bai Sherbora Sumanoh Kapen III,commonly known as Chief Sumanoh Kapen,is a Sierra Leonean politician who has been chairman and leader of Sierra Leone's main opposition party,the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP),since 2013. Previously he was paramount chief of Mambolo Chiefdom in Kambia District. [1] [2]
He served as Paramount Chief of Mambolo Chiefdom in Kambia District from 1989 to 2007. In 2011,he was elected deputy leader of the SLPP party.
Chief Kapen was elected chairman and leader of the SLPP at the party's 2013 convention held in the southern city of Bo,defeating his closest rival,former Ambassador to Ghana Alie Bangura,in a close race for the SLPP leadership position. [3]
Chief Kapen is a devout Muslim and a member of the Temne ethnic group from Kambia District in northern Sierra Leone.

The Kono people are a major Mande-speaking ethnic group in Sierra Leone at 5.2% of the country's total population. Their homeland is the diamond-rich Kono District in eastern Sierra Leone. The Kono are primarily diamond miners and farmers.
Paramount Chief Ella Koblo Gulama OBE,GCOR was a Sierra Leonean paramount chief and politician. In 1957,she became the first elected female Member of Parliament in Sierra Leone. Kaifala Marah is a Sierra Leonean politician,accountant,Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone (2016–2017),and Minister of Finance (2013–2016). On 7 March 2017,Dr. Marah resigned as governor to seek the nomination of the All People's Congress (APC) for the presidential election of 2018.
Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah also commonly known by his nickname Chericoco is Sierra Leonean lawyer and politician who is currently the leader of opposition since 2019 and previous held the position of Deputy speaker of parliament of Sierra Leone in the erstwhile government of Hon. Ernest Bai Korma and Parliamentary Chairman of the Mines and Minerals Resources Committee. He had also served as Chairman of the Parliamentarry Legislative Committee.
