Sungai Udang Recreational Forest (Malay : Hutan Rekreasi Sungai Udang) is a lowland dipterocarp forest in Sungai Udang, Malacca, Malaysia under the management of the State Forestry Department. [1] It was declared a reserved area in 1987 with an area of 55 hectares. [2] [3]

Cincalok Malay salted shrimp condiment

Cincalok is a Malay dish that originated in Malacca, Malaysia, consumed by Malay, Peranakan and Kristang. It can trace it origin during Portuguese occupation of Malacca. In Malacca, the shrimp is called udang geragau. This dish made up of fermented small shrimps or krill. It is usually served as a condiment together with chillis, shallots and lime juice. The shrimp in the pinkish coloured cincalok are readily identifiable and the taste is salty. Sir R. O. Winstedt has written about "Cencaluk" in Malaysia in his book "The Circumstances of Malay Life - 1909". This shrimp is available in particular season in Pantai Klebang, Limbongan, Tanjung Kling and several coastal areas.

Malacca Botanical Garden

Malacca Botanical Garden is a botanical garden located in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, Malaysia. It was established in April 1984 as Ayer Keroh Recreational Forest, and got its present name on 1 June 2006. Recreational facilities here include the Malacca Forestry Museum, Malaysia Book Village, Prehistoric Garden, the Storyland, children's playgrounds, the Orang Asli Park, Deer Park, suspension bridge, watch towers and beautiful picnic spots. It spans over 359 hectares and as much as 10 hectares is used for a camping spot.

Idris Haron Malaysian politician

Idris bin Haron is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Udang from May 2013 to November 2021. He served as Member of the Melaka State Executive Council (EXCO) from March 2020 to October 2021, 10th Chief Minister of Melaka from May 2013 to May 2018, Deputy Minister of Higher Education from March 2008 to April 2009 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Tangga Batu from March 2004 to May 2013. Internationally, he is President of the World Assembly of Youth. He is also former member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. On 4 October 2021, he and three other assemblymen, Nor Azman Hassan of UMNO, Noor Effandi Ahmad of Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) and Independent Norhizam Hassan Baktee declared their loss of confidence and withdrawal of support for Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali as well as claiming that the state government had fallen. On the same day, his UMNO membership was also nullified, after he triggered the collapse of the state government led by his party UMNO. He, Noor Effandi and Norhizam also resigned as EXCO members at the same day. He started aligning himself and three other MLAs with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalition to form a new state government. However, the assembly was instead dissolved and an election was called. However, he carried on aligning with PH and allowed PH to decide on the future of their political careers. On 6 November 2021, he officially joined the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH coalition and was fielded to contest the Asahan state seat with the PH ticket but lost.

Melaka Crocodile Farm, officially Melaka Crocodile and Recreational Park is a crocodile farm in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, Malaysia, which was established in July 1987 with a cost of MYR650,000. It is the largest crocodile farm in Malaysia, expands over an area of 3.5 hectares of reserved forest land. The farm's entrance gate was built like a mini fort with a flight of steps leading inside. It consists of several attractions, namely the main crocodile farm, reptile corner, mammal house, walkthrough aviary, water park, Malaysia miniature, petting zoo, haunted house and herb's garden.

Sulaiman Md Ali Malaysian politician

Datuk Seri Utama Haji Sulaiman bin Md Ali is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 12th Chief Minister of Malacca since March 2020 and Member of the Malacca State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Lendu since May 2013. He served as the Deputy Member of the Malacca State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Chief Minister and former Member Idris Haron from May 2013 to the collapse of the BN state administration in May 2018. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the federal and state ruling BN coalition which is aligned with another federal and state ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition at both the federal and state levels. On 4 October 2021, former Chief Minister of Melaka and Sungai Udang MLA Idris Haron and three other MLAs declared loss of confidence and support for him as Chief Minister and claimed that the state govermment has collapsed. However, the state government will only collapse when the chief minister resigns or loses the vote of a motion of confidence in the state legislative assembly. Following this, the Melaka State Legislative Assembly was dissolved the same day following his loss of majority support in the assembly and his state government stayed in power in caretaker capacity before the next government was formed after the 2021 Malacca state election on 20 November 2021. In the election, Barisan Nasional (BN) won 21 out of 28 state seats and therefore a two-thirds majority in the assembly, he remained as chief minister in the new government. The next day, Sulaiman was sworn in as chief minister.
