Sunkireddy Narayana Reddy is a poet, writer, researcher and a retired principal from Nalgonda, India who is the author of the books like Mattadi, Ganuma, Mungili, and Telangana Charitra. He won the B.N. Sastry award and an award in the "Litterateurs" category on the occasion of the first formation day of Telangana state. His book "Telangana Charitra" is now included in the syllabus for M.A. History and Group II.

Personal life

Narayana Reddy is married to Hemalatha and has three daughters. He is now working on his research associated with University Grants Commission (UGC), Delhi.

He is the only son of Vajjala Samba Shiva Sharma and Radha Bai and was born and brought up in Vemulawada a temple town. Retired librarian from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

Ravi Narayana Reddy was an Indian politician, a founding member of the Communist Party of India, and a peasant leader. He was a leader in the Telangana Rebellion against the rule of Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII. Reddy was also a philanthropist, social reformer, and parliamentarian. He is renowned in Telangana for fighting on behalf of peasants. Raavi Narayana Reddy also played a critical role in the Andhra Mahasabha as its chairman in 1941.

Andhra Mahasabha was a people's organisation in the erstwhile Hyderabad state of India. It was an association started by Telugu people of Telangana region against Nizam rule. The people of Telangana formed the Andhra Mahasabha as they could not tolerate the injustice being done to the Telugu language and Telugu culture. In the late 1920s, under the leadership of Madapati Hanumantha Rao, the Telugu people united and formed a union and organized 13 Andhra Mahasabhas from 1930 to 1945. The activities of the Andhra Mahasabha in the Telangana region created awareness among the people against the Nizam and led to the armed struggle in Telangana. Chief among the people who led the Andhra Mahasabha were: Madapati Hanumantha Rao, Ravi Narayana Reddy, Suravaram Prathapareddy, Baddam Ella Reddy, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, Dasarathi Krishnamacharya, Pulijala Venkatarangarao, Allampalli Venkatarama Rao, Kaloji Narayana Rao, Konda Venkata Rangareddy, Vattikota Alvaraswami, Potlapalli. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, frequently known by his initials KCR, is an Indian politician currently representing the Gajwel Assembly constituency and serving as the leader of the opposition in the Telangana Legislative Assembly. Katti Padma Rao is a Dalit poet, scholar and activist from Andhra Pradesh, India. He is the founding general secretary of Dalit Mahasabha, a people's organisation that spearheaded the Dalit movement in Andhra Pradesh in the aftermath of the 1985 Karamchedu massacre in the coastal region of that state. A scholar in both Telugu and Sanskrit, he has published several volumes of poetry, and books on sociology, religion, philosophy, history, and women's studies. He is a regular columnist in major Telugu newspapers and magazines.

The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014, commonly known as the Telangana Act, is an Act of Indian Parliament that split the state of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and the residuary Andhra Pradesh state, as an outcome of the Telangana movement. The Act defined the boundaries of the two states, determined how the assets and liabilities were to be divided, and laid out the status of Hyderabad as the permanent capital of new Telangana state and temporary capital of the Andhra Pradesh state.

He was the first Chairman of the Telangana Sahitya Akademi.
