Selangor Football Club Under 23 , commonly referred to as Selangor U-23, is a professional Malaysian football reserve team club of Selangor, based in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The club are nicknamed the Young Giants. Founded in 1967 as part of the sports and recreation club for the Selangor State Development Corporation. The club were formerly known as PKNS FC when the club was merged with the Football Association of Selangor, then converted into a reserve team under Selangor first team and were rebranded as Selangor II before later than known as a Selangor U-23. The club are currently playing in the MFL Cup and play their home games at UiTM Stadium with a 10,000-seater capacity.

Chilaw Marians Cricket Club are a first-class cricket team based in Chilaw, Sri Lanka. They play their home games at FTZ Sports Complex. The club has won the Premier League one day Tournament in 2005. More successful in limited overs cricket, Chilaw reached the final of the International 20:20 Club Championship in 2005.

SLC Super Provincial Twenty20, earlier known as SLC Inter-Provincial Twenty20, was a Twenty20 domestic Cricket competition in Sri Lanka held by Sri Lanka Cricket. It was one of three Inter-Provincial Cricket tournaments. Sri Lanka used to have a Twenty20 Tournament which was conducted from 2004 to 2008 and was held between the clubs in Sri Lanka. From 2008 to 2011 the Inter-Provincial Twenty20 became the mainstream domestic Twenty20 competition in Sri Lanka. Wayamba elevens has been in all finals and won the first three tournaments, while Ruhuna won the final tournament. It was replaced by the Sri Lanka Premier League in 2012, but later revived in 2016, as Super Fours Provincial T20 Tournament. but it was replaced by the SLC T20 League.

Football in Sri Lanka is mainly played at a semi-professional and recreational level. Despite not being as well-regarded as the country's cricket team, football is the third biggest sport in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka national football team uses the 25,000-capacity Sugathadasa Stadium for their home games.

Chathura Gunaratne Wellala Hettige, better known as Chathura Gunaratne, is an association footballer from Sri Lanka. Chathura plays in midfield and has played for eleven clubs in Sri Lanka as well as the Sri Lanka national football team.

Cricket was introduced in Sri Lanka during the 19th century by the British. A Sri Lankan school was the first to play cricket in 1864, primarily against small clubs. With the arrival of English cricketer Ashley Walker and the founding of Royal College, Colombo, Sri Lanka's first inter-school match took place between S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia and Royal College in 1880. An annual match, known as the Battle of the Blues, was held.

2014 sees the 30th edition of the Sri Lanka Football Premier League. This season features 22 teams, an expansion of two clubs. Air Force SC are defending champions. In this season Solid SC wins the champions title after joining the league 2 years ago. The teams played round-robin matches.

Mohamed Rifnas is a Sri Lankan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Colombo FC in the Sri Lanka Football Premier League. He operates primarily as a central midfielder and is comfortable playing both in attack and defense.

The 2021 Sri Lanka Super League was the first season of Sri Lanka Super League, after a significant 3 Year delay resulting in Sri Lanka Football having a dry period of a lack of top division football. Today it was meant to be the top division of Sri Lankan football. The season after numerous political delays and lack of preparation finally kicked off in the middle of the pandemic on 19 April 2021. The Super League was the brainchild of the current President Jaswar Umar.
