East Java is a province of Indonesia located in the easternmost hemisphere of Java island. It has a land border only with the province of Central Java to the west; the Java Sea and the Indian Ocean border its northern and southern coasts, respectively, while the narrow Bali Strait to the east separates Java from Bali by around 2.29 kilometres (1.42 mi). Bengkulu is a province of Indonesia. It is located on the southwest coast of Sumatra. It was formed on 18 November 1968 by separating out the area of the historic Bencoolen Residency from the province of South Sumatra under Law No. 9 of 1967 and was finalized by Government Regulation No. 20 of 1968. Spread over 20,130.21 km2, it is bordered by the provinces of West Sumatra to the north, Jambi to the northeast, Lampung to the southeast, and South Sumatra to the east, and by the Indian Ocean to the northwest, south, southwest, and west.
Bojonegoro Regency is a regency in East Java Province of Indonesia, about 110 km west of Surabaya. It is located in the inland part of northern Java plain, mainly on the south bank of the Solo River, the longest river in Java. It had a population of 1,209,973 at the 2010 Census and 1,301,635 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 1,350,650. The administrative centre of the regency is the town of Bojonegoro.

Bangkalan Regency is a regency of East Java province in Indonesia. The seat of its government is the town of Bangkalan. The regency is located on the west side of Madura Island, bordering with Sampang Regency to the east, Java Sea to the north and Madura Strait to the west and the south sides. It covers an area of 1,260.14 km2, and had a population of 906,761 at the 2010 census and reached 1,060,377 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 1,086,620 - comprising 535,522 males and 551,098 females.
Sidoarjo Regency is a regency in East Java, Indonesia. It is bordered by Surabaya city and Gresik Regency to the north, by Pasuruan Regency to the south, by Mojokerto Regency to the west and by the Madura Strait to the east. It has an area of 719.34 km2, making it the smallest regency in East Java.
Madura Strait is a stretch of water that separates the Indonesian islands of Java and Madura, in the province of East Java. The islands of Kambing, Giliraja, Genteng, and Ketapang lie in the Strait. The Suramadu Bridge, the longest in Indonesia, spans the strait between Surabaya on Java and Bangkalan on Madura.

It covers a land area of 4,146.52 km2 and had a population of 155,753 at the 2010 census, which rose to 190,498 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 196,571. The administrative centre of the Mukomuko Regency is Mukomuko town.

As well as a large part of the northern and western suburbs of the city of Surabaya, it includes the offshore Bawean Island, some 125 km to the north of Java and Madura. The regency covers and an area of 1,193.76 km2, and it had an population of 1,177,042 at the 2010 Census and 1,311,215 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 1,332,664. The regency's administrative centre is the town of Gresik, about 25 km to the northwest of Surabaya. Gresik Regency is also part of Gerbangkertosusila, the metropolitan region of Surabaya.
