Susan E. Mayer is a professor and former Dean of the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy. She is a behavioral economist and sociologist who studies poverty and education. Her research examines the role of money in parenting outcomes. [1] She was previously the director of Northwestern/Chicago's Joint Center on Poverty Research,and is currently the co-director of the Behavioral Insights in Parenting Lab with fellow University of Chicago professor Ariel Kalil. She served as the Dean of the Harris School of Public Policy from 2002 to 2009. [2]
Mayer received a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Indiana University in 1974,and a Master's degree in sociology from the same institution in 1981. She received a Ph.D. in Sociology from Northwestern University in 1986. She began working at the Harris School of Public Policy as an Assistant Professor in 1986,and became its to Dean in 2002. Since stepping down from her role as the dean in 2009,she continues to serve as a research professor at the University. [2]
Mayer's research has been cited in the New York Times and the Washington Post. [1] [3] Mayer has an honorary Doctor of Laws degreed conferred by Lake Forest College. [2]

The University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy is the public policy school of the University of Chicago in Chicago,Illinois,United States. It is located on the University of Chicago's main campus in Hyde Park. The school's namesake is businessman Irving B. Harris,who made a donation that established the Harris School in 1986. In addition to policy studies and policy analysis,the school requires its students to pursue training in economics and statistics through preliminary examinations and course requirements. Harris Public Policy offers joint degrees with the Booth School of Business,Law School,School of Social Service Administration,and the Graduate Division of the Social Sciences.

Dean Karlan is an American development economist. He is Professor of Economics and Finance at Northwestern University where,alongside Christopher Udry,he co-founded and co-directs the Global Poverty Research Lab at Kellogg School of Management. Karlan is the president and founder of Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA),a New Haven,Connecticut,based research outfit dedicated to creating and evaluating solutions to social and international development problems. He is also a Research Fellow and member of the Executive Committee of the board of directors at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Along with economists Jonathan Morduch and Sendhil Mullainathan,Karlan served as director of the Financial Access Initiative (FAI),a consortium of researchers focused on substantially expanding access to quality financial services for low-income individuals.
Susan Herbst is an American political scientist and academic administrator who served as the 15th president of the University of Connecticut. She was named president on December 20,2010,and took office on June 1,2011. She succeeded Michael J. Hogan and was the first woman to be selected as the University of Connecticut's president since the school's founding in 1881. In August of 2019,Herbst was succeeded by Thomas C. Katsouleas.

As of 2021,is also a Part Time Professor at the New Economic School.
