Susan King (Texas politician)

Susan Lewis King (born 1952) is an American Republican politician who represented District 71 in the Texas House of Representatives from 2007 to 2017. [1]

In 2016, King was one of six candidates in the Republican primary to replace retiring state senator Troy Fraser in Texas Senate District 24. [2] In the March 1, 2016, primary she received 27% of the vote, with Dawn Buckingham receiving 25% of the vote. [3] Because neither candidate received a majority, they advanced to a runoff election in May. After a contentious campaign focusing on the records and geographic profiles of the two candidates, [4] Buckingham won the runoff with over 60% of the vote. [5]

He served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2007 to 2023. He was elected in 2006 to represent District 63. Parker sought the position of Texas House Speaker with the retirement of Joe Straus but then withdrew his candidacy in 2018 to support the consensus choice, Representative Dennis Bonnen of Angleton in Brazoria County. As of 2022, Parker was elected to represent Senate District 12, and will continue his public service as a State Senator.

Peter Graham Olson is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Texas's 22nd congressional district from 2009 to 2021. His district included much of southern Houston, as well as most of the city's southwestern suburbs such as Katy, Pearland, and Sugar Land. He is a member of the Republican Party. On July 25, 2019, Olson announced that he would retire at the end of his term. He was succeeded by fellow Republican Troy Nehls.
