Daegu, formerly spelled Taegu and officially Daegu Metropolitan City, is a city in southeastern South Korea.
Suseong District (Suseong-gu) is a gu (district) in southeastern Daegu, South Korea. It is one of the most prosperous and high-density areas of Daegu, the site of the city's most extensive hagwon district, so it's called "Gangnam of Daegu". The population of this district consists of those who have careers such as doctors, professors, judges and other high valued careers in Korea. Because of this, it is known for expensive housing and schools compared to other districts in Daegu.
Jung District is a gu, or district, covering the downtown area of Daegu, South Korea. It borders most of the other districts of Daegu, including Nam-gu to the south, Seo-gu to the west, Buk-gu to the north, and Dong-gu and Suseong-gu to the east. The northern border is formed by the Gyeongbu Line railroad, and the eastern border by the Sincheon stream.
Nam District (Nam-gu) is a district in central Daegu, South Korea. It borders Dalseong-gun to the south, Dalseo-gu to the west, Seo-gu to the northwest, Jung-gu to the north, and Suseong-gu to the east. Hyupsung High School and USFK Camp Walker is located in the area. In contains Kyungbok Middle School.
Hwanggeum-dong is a ward of Suseong-gu, Daegu, South Korea. While it is referred to locally as one district, it is in fact administered as two wards, nearly divided by Beomeo Park. Daegu National Museum is in Hwanggeum 1 (il) dong. Hwanggeum Shijang, a market area and major landmark, is in the far northeastern corner of Hwanggeum 2 (i) dong, near the border of Beomeo-dong.
Dukwon High School is a private preparatory school in Suseong-gu, Daegu, South Korea. The school's motto is "Nurture great ambitions and build strength" and, its symbol is the zelkova tree. Like most schools in Korea, Dukwon High School starts its school year in March, starts its second semester in August, and ends the school year in February. There is a weeklong spring break in mid-February.
