Sushma Singh is an Indian Administrative Service officer and the fifth Chief Information Commissioner of India. [1] She succeeded Deepak Sandhu and became the second woman to be appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner.
She is a former Indian Administrative Service officer belonging to the Jharkhand cadre. She retired from Indian Administrative Service on May 31,2009. [2] She has served at various Secretarial positions in the Government of India namely Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the Ministry for the Development of the North Eastern Region (DONER). [1] Singh became Information Commissioner on September 23,2009 in the Central Information Commission. [2]
The Indian Police Service is a civil service under the All India Services. It replaced the Indian Imperial Police in 1948,a year after India became independent from British rule.

Manohar Singh Gill was an Indian bureaucrat,politician,and writer. As a bureaucrat,he served as a member of the Indian Administrative Service from 1958 until his retirement in 2001 as Chief Election Commissioner of India. Upon his retirement,he joined the Indian National Congress and was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab in 2004 and served as a member of the upper house until his retirement in 2016. He also served as Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports from 2008 to 2011 and as Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation in 2011.

Pradeep Kumar is a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer,1972 batch,of the Haryana cadre,who served as Defense Secretary,in the Ministry of Defence,Government of India,for a term of two years,from August 2009 to July 2011. He succeeded Vijay Singh,IAS,1970 batch,who,on superannuation,was appointed as member of the UPSC. In July 2011,on superannuation,he was appointed as chief vigilance commissioner of India.
Anil Goswami is an Indian Administrative Service officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre and held the post of Union Home Secretary of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs till February 2015. He succeeded Raj Kumar Singh. He is the first civil servant from the state to hold this position. His son is the popular television actor Bhanu Uday.
Vijay Singh is a former officer from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS),1970 batch,Madhya Pradesh Cadre. He was appointed Defence Secretary,in the Ministry of Defence,in August 2007. He succeeded Shekhar Dutt,IAS,of 1969 batch,who,on superannuation,was appointed as Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic and Defence related subjects in the National Security Council Secretariat,with rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India,for a term of 2 years. In 2018,he was made chairman of Tata Advanced Systems and vice-chairman Tata Trusts.
General Dalbir Singh Suhag,PVSM,UYSM,AVSM,VSM,ADC is the former Indian High Commissioner to Seychelles and a former Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. He was the 25th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Indian Army,serving from 31 July 2014 to 31 December 2016,and Vice Chief of the Army Staff prior to that.
Ramesh Inder Singh is a former Indian civil servant and the incumbent Chief Information Commissioner of the state of Punjab. He was the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar during the Operation Blue Star,the military action at the Golden Temple in 1984 and has served as the Chief Secretary of Punjab. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1986.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) is a constitutional body. It was established by the Constitution of India to conduct and regulate elections in the country. Article 324 of the Constitution provides that the power of superintendence,direction,and control of elections to parliament,state legislatures,the office of the president of India,and the office of vice-president of India shall be vested in the election commission. Thus,the Election Commission is an all-India body in the sense that it is common to both the Central government and the state governments.
K. Padmanabhaiah is a retired Indian civil servant and a former Home Secretary of India. He is the chairman of the Court of Governors of the Administrative Staff College of India,and has headed many government committees such as the Committee on Police Reforms (2000),the Committee on Reorganization of the Services Selection Board,and the committee to Review the working of National Institute of Urban Management. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan,in 2008,for his contributions to Indian civil service.
