Suzaan van Biljon (born 26 April 1988 in Bloemfontein, South Africa) [1] is an Olympic-swimmer from South Africa. She swam for South Africa at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, and as of June 2009 holds both African and South African records. [2] She holds the African record for the long course 200 m breaststroke, set at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and the short course records in the 100 and 200 m breaststroke. [3]
Her brother, Pite, is an international cricketer who has represented the South Africa cricket team. [4]
Kosuke Kitajima is a Japanese retired breaststroke swimmer. He won gold medals at the men's 100 m and 200 m breaststroke events at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and the 2008 Summer Olympics – becoming the first and only swimmer to sweep the breaststroke events at consecutive Olympic games.
Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius is a South African former professional sprinter and convicted murderer. Both of his feet were amputated when he was 11 months old as a result of a congenital defect; he was born missing the outside of both feet and both fibulae.
