Suzanne M. LaFrance (born 1968 or 1969) [2] is an American businesswoman and politician from the state of Alaska. She is the 38th mayor of Anchorage,having unseated incumbent mayor Dave Bronson in the 2024 election.
LaFrance was born in Manchester,New Hampshire,but her family moved to Alaska when she was a young child,eventually settling in Palmer. She attended the University of Portland for her undergraduate degree and Purdue University for her master's degree,and prior to entering politics worked in business as a financial analyst and project manager.
LaFrance served on the Anchorage Assembly from 2017 to 2023. [3] She ran for the Alaska House of Representatives against James D. Kaufman for the 28th district in 2020, [4] but lost. [5]
In 2024,LaFrance ran for mayor of Anchorage against Dave Bronson,the incumbent mayor. LaFrance defeated Bronson. [6] [7] She was sworn into office on July 1. [8]
Ethan Avram Berkowitz is an American attorney,businessman,and politician from Alaska. From 1997 to 2007 he was the Alaska State Representative for District 26,serving as the Democratic Party Minority Leader from 1999 to 2007. He was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor in 2006,for Alaska's at-large congressional district in 2008,and for governor in 2010. He was elected mayor of Anchorage in 2015,and reelected in 2018. Berkowitz resigned as mayor of Anchorage in October 2020 after admitting to being in a "consensual,inappropriate messaging relationship" with a reporter.
Sean Randall Parnell is an American attorney and politician who was the tenth governor of Alaska from 2009 to 2014. He succeeded Sarah Palin in July 2009,and was elected governor in his own right in 2010 with 59.06% of the vote,as the largest percentage margin of any Alaska governor since the state's admission into the United States. In 2014,he narrowly lost his bid for re-election and returned to work in the private sector. He is a member of the Republican Party.

A member of the Democratic Party,she previously served as a judge on the Orutsararmiut Native Council's tribal court,executive director of the Kuskokwim River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission,Bethel city councilor,and member of the Alaska House of Representatives.
Daniel Albert Sullivan is an American businessman and politician who served as the mayor of Anchorage from 2009 to 2015 and on the Anchorage Assembly from 1999 to 2008. The son of Anchorage's longest-serving mayor,George M. Sullivan,he was the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Alaska in the 2014 election but he and incumbent Governor Sean Parnell were defeated by the ticket of Independent Bill Walker and Democrat Byron Mallott.

The deadline to register to vote in the first round was March 7. Mail-in ballots were sent out starting on March 15. On May 21,2021,after a narrow loss,Dunbar conceded the race to Bronson.
