Sven Thorgren (born 4 October 1994) is a Swedish snowboarder who competes in slopestyle. [1]

He started snowboarding when he was seven years old and practiced every day after school on a small mountain called Väsjöbacken. [2] Thorgren qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics. On 6 February 2014 in the qualification event, Thorgren finished the third in his heat and thereby qualified directly to the finals. [3] In the finals, he finished fourth. His most recent medal was at Air&Style, China where he got the gold medal. [2]

At FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2011 and 2013 finished 39th and 18th, respectively. His best World Cup result and the only podium before the 2014 Olympics was the third-place finish in Spindleruv Mlyn on 16 March 2013. [1]

He has won an additional two silver medals plus a bronze in slopestyle and big air events at the X Games bringing his total medals in the competition to five.

Sweden competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, from 7 to 23 February 2014. The Swedish Olympic Committee sent 106 athletes to the Games, 61 men and 45 women, to compete in nine sports. 38 of the 98 events had Swedish participation.
