Sverige idag (Swedish for "Sweden today") is a news program broadcast by Sveriges Television since 2011. [1] It covers current affairs from all over the country by using a compilation of reports from the regional news programs of SVT. It is a sister programme to Landet runt, which is broadcast from Gothenburg on SVT1 on Sunday evening.

Sverige idag is broadcast from Umeå on SVT1 at weekdays at 17:30. It has previously been broadcast on SVT2 on Sundays and Mondays in Meänkieli and Romani.

Godmorgon, världen! is a long-running Swedish radio programme, broadcast on the Sveriges Radio channel P1 between 9 and 11 every Sunday morning since 1986. The programme covers the news of the last week with reports and interviews, includes a panel of selected Swedish media personalities who comment and debate recent events and issues, and a satirical show. Godmorgon, världen! were started on the initiative of Ove Joanson, then CEO of Sveriges Radio. It was based on several foreign models, but particularly the Canadian programme Sunday Morning.

Television began in Sweden in 1954 with test transmissions, prior to the opening of the first station, Radiotjänst, two years later. A second channel was launched in 1969. Commercial television arrived in the 1980s through cable television and in 1992, the country's first terrestrial commercial channel was launched.

Uutiset is a news programme from Sveriges Television. It is broadcast on SVT2 during 17:45 to 17:55 in Finnish. However, just like most foreign-language programmes aired on Swedish television, the show is subtitled in Swedish, but when an interviewee responds in Swedish the response is subtitled into Finnish. The program started broadcasting on 22 August 1988. Before the "Nyhetsflytt" on 15 January 2001, Uutiset was broadcast on Kanal 1 and SVT1 at 17:50.
