Kristof Beyens is a Belgian sprint athlete, who specialises in the 100 and 200 metres. His personal best time over 200 metres is 20.44 s, achieved in Osaka during the World Championships.
During the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, athletes from Yugoslavia and Macedonia competed as Independent Olympic Participants. Macedonian athletes could not appear under their own flag because their NOC had not been formed. Yugoslavia was under United Nations sanctions which prevented the country from taking part in the Olympics. Individual Yugoslav athletes were allowed to take part as Independent Olympic Participants.

The swimming competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo were due to take place from 25 July to 6 August 2020 at the Olympic Aquatics Centre. The women's 10 km open-water marathon was due to be held on August 5, with the men's race due to happen 2 days later at the Odaiba Marine Park. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the games have been postponed to 2021. However, their official name remains 2020 Summer Olympics with swimming events set for 24 July - 1 August 2021 and marathon swimming set for 4–5 August 2021.

He has won a gold medal and a silver at the World Championships, as well as three golds at the European Championships. He is also a three-time Youth Olympic Champion from the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
