The Men's 50 metre butterfly competition at the 2019 World Championships was held on 21 and 22 July 2019. [1] [2] The defending champion Ben Proud finished 7th in the final. The winner, Caeleb Dressel, set a competition record in the final, winning in 22.35 seconds.

The women's 50 metre breaststroke event in swimming at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships took place on 3–4 August at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain.
The Men's 50 metre freestyle competition at the 2019 World Championships was held on 26 and 27 July 2019. Caeleb Dressel finished first in the final, retaining the title he won in the previous Championships.
The Men's 100 metre freestyle competition at the 2019 World Championships was held on 24 and 25 July 2019.
The Men's 200 metre freestyle competition at the 2019 World Championships was held on 22 and 23 July 2019. Sun Yang was the defending champion, and defended his title. Lithuania's Danas Rapšys finished first, but was disqualified for flinching just before the start. During the medal ceremony, Great Britain's Duncan Scott refused to shake hands with China's Sun Yang, with Sun Yang calling Scott a "loser" in response.

The Men's 100 metre backstroke competition at the 2019 World Championships was held on 22 and 23 July 2019. The defending champion was Xu Jiayu, and he successfully defended his title. Jiayu set a competition record in the semifinals by winning his semifinal in 52.17 seconds.

The Men's 100 metre breaststroke competition at the 2019 World Championships was held on 21 and 22 July 2019. Adam Peaty broke the world record with a time of 56.88 in the semi-final, the first man to swim under 57 seconds in this event, and went on to win in the final.

The defending champion Caeleb Dressel broke Michael Phelps' ten-year-old record by 0.32 second in the semi-final, setting a new world-record time of 49.50 seconds. Dressel won the final held the following day, defending his title.

Benedetta Pilato is an Italian swimmer. She is the world record holder in the long course 50 metre breaststroke. She is the European champion in the 50 metre breaststroke in 2021 and the 100 metre breaststroke in 2022 as well as the silver medalist in the 50 metre breaststroke in 2022. In 2021, she won a silver medal in the 50 metre breaststroke at the 2021 World Short Course Championships. She is the world champion in the 100 metre breaststroke and the silver medal in the 50 metre breaststroke at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships.
