Virdhawal Vikram Khade (born 29 August 1991) is an Indian swimmer. He competed in the men's 50, 100, and 200 meters Freestyle swimming events at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, [1] setting an Indian national record in 100 meters Freestyle. He failed to qualify for the semifinals in his events despite winning his qualification heat. Khade won a bronze medal in the 50 meters butterfly event at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou; it was India's first Asian Games medal in swimming in 24 years. He was conferred with the Arjuna Award in 2011 by the Government of India.
Khade is the national record-holder in the 50m, [2] 100m and 200m Freestyle events and in the 50m Butterfly. Khade is Senior National Champion, 2006 in 50m, 100m, 200m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly. He won six gold medals and broke three Games Records at the South Asian Games, 2006 and won six gold medals and broke five Games Records at the 33rd National Games, Guwahati.
He is the youngest ever Indian swimmer to qualify for an Olympics. [3] [4] Although he did not qualify for the semifinals of the 100m freestyle at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he did finish first in his heat (Heat 3) and set a new personal best of 50.07 seconds, [5] placing him 42nd overall. He came 48th in the 200 m freestyle and 32nd in the 50 m.
At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Khade participated in the 50m and 100m freestyle, 50m and 100m butterfly, and 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. [6] He was part of the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay which made history by reaching finals and finishing at 6th position. [7] [8] He also qualified for the finals in 50m Butterfly event. [9]
At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Khade participated in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly events. He made it to semi-finals in the 50m butterfly event. [10] [11]
Khade won a bronze medal in the 50m Butterfly event at the 16th Asian Games, ending a 24-year wait for Indian swimming. [12] [13] Sachin Nag was the first Indian to win a swimming gold medal in 1951 Asian games held in New Delhi. [14] [15] [16]
At the 2018 Asian Games, Khade participated in 50m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle, and 4 × 100 m Freestyle Relay. Khade finished 4th in the 50m Freestyle event, missing bronze medal by 0.01 seconds. [17] Khade also reached the finals in the 4 × 100 m Freestyle relay where the Indian team broke national record in morning heats and finished 8th in finals. [18] [19]
Khade won a gold medal in the 50m Butterfly and silver in the 50m Freestyle event at the 2016 South Asian Games. [20] [21]

Khade won gold medals in 50m Freestyle event and 4 × 100 m Freestyle relay at Asian Age-group Championships 2015. [23] [24]
In 2019, Khade won a gold medal at the 10th Asian Age Group Championship. [25]
Khade was adjudged best athlete at the 34th National Games, held at Ranchi in the year 2011. [26]

Khajan Singh is an Indian swimmer, who remained national swimming champion of India, and won a silver medal at the 1986 Asian Games in Seoul. He was awarded an Arjuna Award by Government of India in 1984.
Sandeep Sejwal is an Indian swimmer who has participated in Olympics 2008. He contested in the men's 100 m and 200 m breaststroke events at the 2010 Asian Juniors in Beijing, but did not reach the finals in both events. He won the bronze medal in 2014 Asian Games in 50 m breaststroke.

Osman is the fastest female swimmer in Egypt and Africa, she is currently coached by Teri McKeever. Osman holds the senior national records for all the butterfly, freestyle and backstroke events, as well as African records in the 50m and 100m butterfly.

Sharath M. Gayakwad is an Indian Paralympic swimmer from Bangalore. At the 2014 Asian Games, he broke P.T. Usha's record for most number of medals by an Indian at any multi-discipline Event by winning 6 medals. Coming from a modest financial background, he has over 30 international and 40 national medals to his credit, one of them being the bronze medal at the 2010 Asian Para Games. He is the first Indian swimmer to qualify for the Paralympics and competed in the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London.

Sajan Prakash is an Indian swimmer who specialises in freestyle, butterfly and medley events. At the 2015 National Games in Kerala, he set a record on 8 February 2015 by winning 6 gold and 3 Silver medals, and became the best athlete of the Indian National Games, held at Trivandrum, Kerala. He competed at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics in the 200 meter butterfly event. He became the first ever Indian swimmer to breach the FINA "A" Olympic qualification time when he clocked an Indian national record time of 1:56.38 in the 200 m butterfly event at the 2021 Sette Colli Trophy in Rome. With this time he qualified for the 200 m butterfly event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As of June 2021, he is the holder of 11 Indian national swimming records in events spanning freestyle, butterfly, medley and relay categories. Sajan is currently training with Aqua Nation Sports Academy (ANSA) based in Dubai.
