Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) is a self-governing body which governs the municipal areas of Sylhet, Bangladesh. This civic body of Sylhet was formed according to the Sylhet City Corporation Act, 2001. [1]
At the 2022 Bangladesh Population and Housing Census, SCC has a population of 532,426 of whom 275,838 are male and 256,474 are female. [2]
SCC government is elected by popular vote every 5 years.

Sylhet is a metropolitan city located in the northeastern region of Bangladesh. It is the administrative center of Sylhet Division. It is situated on the banks of the Surma River. The city has a population of approximately 700,000 people, making it the fifth-largest city in Bangladesh.
Narayanganj is a city in central Bangladesh in the Greater Dhaka area. It is in the Narayanganj District, about 16 km (10 mi) southeast of the capital city of Dhaka. With a population of almost 1 million, it is the 6th largest city in Bangladesh. It is also a center of business and industry, especially the jute trade and processing plants, and the textile sector of the country. It is nicknamed the Dundee of Bangladesh, due to the presence of its many jute mills.

Cumilla City Corporation is a self-governed municipal administration in Bangladesh that administers and oversees development and maintenance works in the city of Comilla. The corporation covers an area of over 53.84 square kilometers in the Comilla District. The body was known as Comilla Municipality previously, until it obtained the City Corporation status by a ministry of local government declaration on 10 July 2011.
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) is one of the two municipal corporations in Dhaka created when the former Dhaka City Corporation was divided into two by the Local Government Amendment Bill 2011 on 29 November 2011, passed in the Parliament of Bangladesh, following the President's approval. Dhaka South has a long history, including that of European arrival and colonization. The area was initially 45 km2, but expanded in 2017 to 109.2 km2 and Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) published Population and Housing Census 2022 count at 4,299,345, giving the city a density of 39,371 people per km2.
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) or Dhaka Uttar City Corporation was created as an autonomous body that governs 54 northern wards of Dhaka to better manage local services, but has since added new areas. It is one of two municipal corporations in Dhaka, the other being Dhaka South City Corporation. Annisul Huq was the first mayor of the Dhaka North City Corporation, after being elected in April 2015. Md. Atiqul Islam is the current mayor of DNCC since 7 March 2019. The area was 82.69 km2 until 2017 when it underwent expansion to 197 km2. Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) published Population and Housing Census 2022 with 5,979,537 people residing in it, for average density of 30,353 people per km2.

Khulna City Corporation is self-governing organizations, which runs on its own. To take care of legal issues of this corporation, Metropolitan Magistrate Court is there.
Barishal City Corporation is a self-governed municipal administration in Bangladesh that administers and oversees development and maintenance works in the city of Barisal. The corporation covers an area of over 58 square kilometers in the Barisal district where over five million people live as permanent residents. The body was known as Barisal Municipality previously, until it obtained the city corporation status by a ministry of local government declaration on 25 July 2002.
Ariful Haque Choudhury is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former mayor of Sylhet. Choudhury is also an executive member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. In 2003, he was elected as commissioner of Sylhet City Corporation. He become Mayor for consecutive 2 terms since 2013.
Rangpur City Corporation established in 28 June 2012, is one of the city corporations of Bangladesh. Current mayor of RpCC is Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa who was Nominated by Jatiya Party. Rangpur City Corporation is a formation under the local government administration of Bangladesh to regulate the city area of Rangpur, which is under the Ministry of Local Government & Rural Development (LGRD). Generally under local government, an election is held to elect a mayor of Rangpur City Corporation. Rangpur City Corporation's total area is 205.76 square kilometers with approximately has the population of 7,96,556 people in the city corporation area. The first elected mayor of the Rangpur City Corporation during 2012–2017 is Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu.
The 2018 election for mayor of Sylhet City Corporation was held on 30 July 2018. Sylhet is a city in Bangladesh. The result was again a victory for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate Ariful Haque Choudhury.
