Sımada is a village and municipality in the Saatly Rayon of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 1,372.
Azerbaijan, officially the Republic of Azerbaijan, is a landlocked country in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west and Iran to the south. Lay Guyint is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Debub Gondar Zone, Lay Guyint is bordered on the south by Tach Guyint and Simada, on the southwest by Misraq Este, on the west by Farta, on the north by Ebenat, and on the east by the Semien Wollo Zone. The administrative center is Nefas Mewcha; other towns in Lay Guyint include Gobgob and Sali.

Part of the Debub Gondar Zone, Tach Gayint is bordered on the south by the Bashilo River which separates it from the Debub Wollo Zone, on the west by Simada, on the north by Lay Gayint, and on the east by the Checheho River which separates it from the Semien Wollo Zone. The major town in Tach Gayint is Arb Gebeya.

Part of the Debub Gondar Zone, Simada is bordered on the southeast by the Bashilo River which separates it from the Debub Wollo Zone, on the southwest by the Abay River which separates it from the Misraq Gojjam Zone, on the west by Misraq Este, on the north by Lay Gayint, and on the northeast by Tach Gayint. Part of this woreda's boundary with Este is defined by the Wanka, a tributary of the Abay. The major town in Simada is Wegeda.
Misraq Este or East Este is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Debub Gondar Zone, Misraq Este is bordered on the south by the Abay River which separates it from the Misraq Gojjam Zone, on the west by Mirab Este and Dera, on the northwest by Fogera, on the north by Farta, on the northeast by Lay Gayint, and on the east by Simada; part of this woreda's boundary with Simada is defined by the Wanka, a tributary of the Abay. Towns in Misraq Este include Mekane Yesus.
Protests erupted in Ethiopia on 5 August 2016 following calls by opposition groups. Protesters demanded social and political reforms including an end to human rights abuses. The government responded by restricting access to the Internet and attacking as well as arresting protesters.
