T.N.B. College, Bhagalpur, also known as Tej Narayan Banaili College, established in 1883, is one of the oldest general degree colleges in Bhagalpur, Bihar. It is affiliated to Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, [3] and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the science and arts.

The college is spread across a campus of around 60 acres and houses its own stadium.

History

T.N.B. College is the second oldest college of higher learning in Bihar after Patna College. It was established on 12 Feb. 1883 with Intermediate level classes then called as F. A. under Calcutta University. Just after two years of the establishment of college, undergraduate and Post-graduate classes in some of the subject of Arts and degree class in Law were started in this college. In the year 1959 it was made an affiliated college of Bihar University and later it became an affiliated college of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University.

Tilka Majhi Bhagalpur University, formerly Bhagalpur University, is a public university in Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. It was established on 12 July 1960, having local colleges initially associated with Patna University. Its campus is around 264 acres (1.07 km2) in area. The name was changed from Bhagalpur University to Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University in 1991 in commemoration of Tilka Majhi, a freedom fighter.

Bihar has been a major centre of learning and home to one of the oldest universities of one of the earliest universities of India dating back to the fifth century and the tradition of learning which had its origin from ancient times was lost during the medieval period when it is believed that marauding armies of the invaders destroyed these centres of learning.

Munger University is a state university and was established through bifurcation of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur. It has jurisdiction spreading over five districts: Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Jamui and Khagaria under Munger Division in Bihar. Munger University was established on 18th March 2018 after its bifurcation from Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur. The university started operating academically from the 2018–19 academic year.

It has been registered under section 22 of the UGC and AIU.

RLSY College, Paliganj also known as Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College, Paliganj is a degree college in Patna district of Bihar, India. It is affiliated with Patliputra University.
