Selvaraghavan is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and actor who has directed and acted predominantly Tamil films and few Telugu films. He had his directorial debut with Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002). Still, his father is credited for business reasons, which stars his brother Dhanush, Selvaraghavan went on to make a series of romantic drama films with Kadhal Kondein (2003) and 7G Rainbow Colony (2004) before also venturing into coming-of-age films Pudhupettai (2006) and Mayakkam Enna (2011), both starring Dhanush. He has also ventured into making science fiction and fantasy films, such as depicting a fantasy Chola kingdom in Aayirathil Oruvan (2010) and a parallel universe in Irandam Ulagam (2013). He has been critically acclaimed for his directorial skills.
Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman, better known by his stage name Karthik, is an Indian actor, playback singer and politician who works in Tamil cinema. He is the son of veteran actor R. Muthuraman. Known as Navarasa Nayagan, Karthik was one of the biggest stars in the industry in the 80s and 90s. He was first introduced by Bharathiraja in the Tamil film Alaigal Oivathillai (1981) and became a lead actor in Tamil films eventually. Sasidharan known as Sasi is an Indian film director and screenwriter working primarily in Tamil cinema. He made his directorial debut with Sollamale in 1998, followed by a series of successful romance films like Roja Kootam (2002), Dishyum (2006), and Poo (2008). The film revolves around an aspiring photographer and the problems he faces, causing him to fall into distress. How he manages to achieve his goals from thereafter forms the rest of the story.
Rojavanam is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Selva and produced by Kavithalayaa Productions. The film stars Karthik, Laila and Malavika. It was released on 30 July 1999.
Vikram Prabhu is an Indian actor working in Tamil language films who made his debut in Prabhu Solomon's Kumki (2012). He also played the protagonist in Ivan Veramathiri (2013) and Vellaikaara Durai (2014). He is the son of actor Prabhu and grandson of the veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan.
Veppam (transl. Heat) is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language crime action film written and directed by newcomer Anjana Ali Khan, starring Nani, Nithya Menen, Karthik Kumar, and Bindu Madhavi. The film marks Nani's Tamil debut. The story narrates events from the slum areas of Chennai, showcasing characters and their struggles. The film, jointly produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon's Photon Kathaas and R. S. Infotainment, had been in production for over one year. The film released on 29 July 2011, while a dubbed Telugu version, titled Sega, released simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh. Veppam received mixed reviews.

All in All Azhagu Raja is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh. The film stars Karthi in dual lead roles with Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal, Santhanam, Radhika Apte, and Saranya Ponvannan in the supporting roles. The music was composed by S. Thaman with cinematography by Sakthi Saravanan and editing by Vivek Harshan. The film was released on 2 November 2013 coinciding with Diwali to negative reviews from critics. The film's negative response was the beginning of the director's career slump, as his subsequent films were similarly poorly received and failed at the box-office.

Adada Enna Azhagu is a 2009 Tamil-language romance film directed by T. M. Jayamurugan. The film stars Jai Akash and newcomer Nicole, with Sarath Babu, Ashish Vidyarthi, Karunas, Aishwarya, Rekha, Aarthi and Mahadevan playing supporting roles. It was released on 20 March 2009. The film was also dubbed into Telugu as Aaha Entha Andam and into Hindi as Tum Ho Sabse Haseen.

Thee Ivan is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film written, produced and directed by Jayamurugan Muthusamy. The film stars Karthik and Sukanya in the main lead roles. The film marked the return of Karthik in the main lead role, after a long gap.
