Jai Akash, also known as Akash, is an Indian actor, who acted in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. [2] He is known for the film Anandam (2001).
Jai Sathish, a Tamilian of Sri Lankan origin settled in London, sent his modelling photographs to the "Star Search" service run by Suhasini's entertainment portal website TamilTalkies.com during the late 1990s. K. Balachander, when casting a new actor to portray the second hero role in Rojavanam (1999), used the "Star Search" platform and selected him to be in the film under the stage name of Akash. [3]
Akash began his career with his first film in Telugu, Anandam , directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by Ramoji Rao. Anandam was a Silver Jubilee film and Akash won many awards for his excellent natural acting. He was the overnight super star and many top producers and directors were in queue to sign him. But, Akash acted in new directors films and struggling producers films. He acted in several Telugu films including the unreleased June July opposite Sadha, Pilisthe Palukutha opposite Shamitha Shetty, directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and the songs composed by M. M. Keeravani became a hit especially the song "Manasa Ottu Maatadothu". [4] He returned to Tamil as a lead with the film Inidhu Inidhu Kadhal Inidhu (2003) opposite Neha, which was a remake of Anandam, also produced by Ramoji Rao. He was credited as Jai Akash due to presence of Aravind Akash, an actor with a similar name. [1] In 2004, he teamed up with Sreenu Vaitla again in Anandamanandamaye . He also starred in six Tamil films between 2004 and 2005; Ramakrishna , Kicha Vayasu 16 , Gurudeva , Sevvel , Amudhae and Kaatrullavarai . The Tamil films he acted as hero were with all the top directors, such as Agathiyan and Ezhil but the films didn't get the proper release.
Jai Akash returned to the Telugu film industry as a second hero and acted in three films produced by Super Good Films with Andala Ramudu (2006), Nava Vasantham (2007) and Gorintaku (2008). All the three films became super hit and Akash got many offers as hero in Telugu. He acted and directed a film called Sweet Heart. In 2009, he acted in the romantic story, Adada Enna Azhagu . [5] In the bilingual movie Vandae Maatharam (2010), he played alongside Mammootty and Arjun Sarja along with a huge array of actors in supporting roles. [6] Jai Akash returns after a gap and is both acting in and directing this film Ayudha Porattam (2011), which deals with the issue of arms supply to the island nation of Sri Lanka. [7] Kadhalan Kadhali (2011), Yuganiki Okka Premikudu (2012), Mr. Rajesh (2013) and Aa Iddaru (2013) are the films in which he acted as a hero and also worked as the director. In the Telugu film Mr. Rajesh, he acted in seven roles. [8]
In 2020, Jai Akash acted as the hero in soap opera Tamil's Neethane Enthan Ponvasantham which premiered on 24 February 2020, has successfully completed 300 episodes on 12 May. [9]
In 2005, Jai Akash's Gurudeva released and failed at the box office. The Telugu version of the film, Guru also failed with Muppa Ankanna Rao, the executive producer of the version, failing to promote the film. Rao launched complaint to the police that Akash had hired attackers to threaten him for failing to publicize the film and subsequently Akash was arrested but later released. [10]
In 2009, Jai Akash filed a complaint to the Nadigar Sangam against actress Sunaina following allegations from her which claimed that she was not a part of the intimate scenes in the film, Madan and that Jai Akash as director had used a double. [11] Denying such reports, Jai Akash went on to claim that Sunaina was attempting to distance herself from the film. [12]

Suhasini Rajaram Naidu, known professionally as Sneha, is an Indian actress who works primarily in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films in lead roles to supporting roles.
Amar Choudary, known professionally as Jiiva, is an Indian actor and film producer who works mainly in Tamil cinema and a few Hindi and Malayalam films. He is the youngest son of film producer R. B. Choudary. He began his career as a child actor in 1991 in films produced by his father. He made his debut as a lead actor in his father's 50th production, Aasai Aasaiyai (2003). After Sivaji Ganesan, Jiiva is the only Tamil actor to have been awarded at the Cyprus International Film Festival, particularly for his performance in Raam (2005).

Anandam (transl. Happiness) is a 2001 Indian Telugu-language romance film, directed by Srinu Vaitla and starring Akash and Rekha in the lead roles. The music of the film was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film was sensational hit at box office and ran for 200 days in two centers, 175 days in two centers and 100 days in all major centers. It was a commercial and critical success of the time. This film made Akash an overnight star of the Telugu film industry. The film was remade in Kannada as Ananda, in Tamil as Inidhu Inidhu Kaadhal Inidhu, both versions being produced by Ramoji Rao, and in Hindi as Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge.
Atharvaa Murali is an Indian actor who works in Tamil cinema. The son of actor Murali and grandson of director S. Siddalingaiah, Atharvaa began his acting career with Baana Kaathadi (2010). He then garnered critical acclaim for his performance as a youngster suffering from delusion in the romantic thriller Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (2012), before signing on to feature in Bala's period film Paradesi (2013). His role as a rural villager held as a slave in a tea plantation became his breakthrough performance, earning Atharvaa a Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Tamil.
Neethaane En Ponvasantham is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film co written, co produced and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Jiiva and Samantha. This film is shot simultaneously in Telugu, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, with Nani replacing Jiiva, while the team also briefly filmed an incomplete Hindi version with Aditya Roy Kapoor, with Samantha playing the leading female role in all three versions. The film is based on a story written by Reshma Ghatala, who produced the film alongside Elred Kumar, Venkat Somasundaram and Menon. The cinematography was handled by M. S. Prabhu and Om Prakash. The film's background score and soundtrack were composed by Ilaiyaraaja which went on to become a chartbuster, and the soundtrack album sold a record 8.5 million units through various platforms on its release.
Baadshah is a 2013 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by Sreenu Vaitla. The film was produced by Bandla Ganesh under his Parameswara Art Productions banner. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. in the lead role, alongside Kajal Aggarwal, Navdeep, Brahmanandam, and Kelly Dorji. The soundtrack was composed by S. Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Premsai and produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film stars Jai and Yami Gautam, with Ashutosh Rana, Santhanam in his penultimate film acting as comedian, VTV Ganesh, Prem, Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Satya Krishnan and Thalapathy Dinesh, among others, in supporting roles. Neethaane En Ponvasantham is the soundtrack album, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, to the Indian romance film of the same name, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon that stars Jiiva and Samantha. The album features eight tracks, with lyrics penned by Na. Muthukumar. The album was one of the most anticipated musicals of 2012 in Tamil cinema. The production house sold the musical rights at an altitudinous price of ₹20 million (US$250,000), setting a record price for audio rights acquirement which were sold to Sony Music India. It was released during a live concert on 1 September 2012. The film's Telugu version, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, also directed by Gautham Menon, reuses the same soundtrack.

Gurudeva is a 2005 Indian romantic drama film directed by Jaffer. The music by Sabesh–Murali and produced by K. Kaliyamurthy. The film stars Jai Akash, along with Pranathi, Nassar, and Riyaz Khan. The film was shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu as Guru. This film was released on 1 April 2005 under the banner of Sriselva Muthukumara Movies.
Inidhu Inidhu Kadhal Inidhu is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language buddy romance film directed by Sakthi Chidambaram, and produced by Ramoji Rao. The film stars Jai Akash and Neha, with Hamsavardhan and Monica in supporting roles. A remake of the 2001 Telugu film Anandam, it was released on 9 May 2003.
