T. Meena Kumari (born 1951) is a retired high court judge of India. [1] She was the first Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court. [2] She previously served as the judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court and Patna High Court. [3]
On her appointment as first Chief Justice of Meghalaya in 2013,she said her first priority would be to set up Fast-Track Courts in the state,as well as to understand the problems of the region and deal with pending cases. [4] However,she was only in post for five months. After her retirement as Meghalaya Chief Justice in August 2013,she was appointed Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission in December 2014. [5] The post had been vacant since 2011. [6]
Whilst serving as a judge in the Andhra Pradesh High Court,she was involved in the case of T. Muralidhar Rao vs State of Andhra Pradesh 2010 as a member of the seven judge bench. The case dealt with religion-based reservations,specifically relating to reservations for backward class Muslims. While agreeing with the majority view,which struck down the quota,Justice T. Meena Kumari articulated a separate judgement. [7] [8]
She completed her law degree from Osmania University,Hyderabad,Andhra Pradesh. She is the granddaughter of late violinist Padmashree Venkateswamy Naidu. [9]

She was a member of the 15th Law Commission of India from 1997 to 2000,and was responsible for the amendments to the Hindu Succession Act that gave equal rights to daughters in joint family property.
The Lokayukta is the Indian Parliamentary Ombudsman,executed into power,through and for,each of the State Governments of India. It is brought into effect in a state after passing the Lokayukta Act in the respective state legislature,and a person of reputable background is nominated for the post. The post was created to quickly address the working of the government or its administration. Once appointed,Lokayukta cannot be dismissed or transferred by the government,and can only be removed by passing an impeachment motion by the state assembly.
Subray Rama Nayak was elevated as a judge of high court of Karnataka state,India,on 25 February 1994 and subsequently he was sworn in as judge of high court of Andhra Pradesh state,India,on 21 March 1994. He was transferred back to Karnataka High Court and was sworn in as a Judge of Karnataka High Court on 2 January 2003. He was the acting chief justice of Karnataka High Court from 20 October 2004 to 19 November 2004.
Vangala Eshwaraiah,also spelt as V. Eswaraiah was the former chairperson,National commission for backward classes from 19.09.2013 to September 2016. Prior to this appointment,he was Chief Justice of High Court of Andhra Pradesh in India. He was elevated to the constitutional post as additional Judge of Andhra Pradesh high court in 1999 and then as judge in 2000. Government of India appointed Justice Vangala Eswaraiah,former Acting Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) on 23 September 2013. He was succeeded by Justice M. N. Rao,a retired Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court.

Prafulla Chandra Pant is an Indian judge and author who served as a judge of the Supreme Court of India from 2014 to 2017. He later served as a member of the National Human Rights Commission of India from 2019 to 2021,and briefly acted as its chairperson. Prior to his appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court of India,he had previously served as chief justice of the Meghalaya High Court at Shillong and as a judge of the Uttarakhand High Court at Nainital.

He was born on 7 June 1957 and hails from Jabalpur,in Madhya Pradesh. He was a Judge and later the Acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court,and later the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.
