The album was highly rated, especially among Welsh speakers. Some called the album "delightfully eclectic" while noting its ability to create "nostaligia". Others also said that the album was "brilliant" and that the "presentation is unique" (referring to the album cover) while also mentioning how Cerys' voice has "matured beautifully" with the sounds she makes evoking "another time."[3]
The album TIR was also described as a "labour of love" album.[4]
TIR reached No. 45 on the UK Independent Chart and broke records by becoming the best-selling Welsh-language album of the past ten years.[7]

Collaboration
Cerys' collaboration with Ballet Cymru
In 2012 and 2013, Cerys collaborated with Ballet Cymru to create a "unique [piece of] work" especially for the dancers of Ballet Cymru, featuring 11 of the songs from TIR. Cerys performed live across venues in Wales such as Newport and Caernarfon in 2012 and then Newport in 2013. She also performed in London in 2012.[9]
