Tomas "TJ" Pijuan Manotoc Jr. is a Filipino sports television personality, sportscaster and sports journalist.

Career

After graduating as a marketing student at La Salle, Manotoc joined the ABS-CBN Sports' coverage of Metropolitan Basketball Association. [1]

Shortly, he left the MBA coverage to move on PBA on Viva TV. In the coverage team, he occasionally work with his father. He worked in PBA coverages on NBN/IBC consortium and ABC coverage until 2004. [1]

From 2000 to 2003, he worked as a host on GMA's Unang Hirit . He also worked as host in some TV shows and specials such as Binibining Pilipinas , Magandang Umaga Pilipinas' Trip ni TJ segment that talks about OFWs. [1] He also worked on some ANC programs. [2]

He later worked in UAAP basketball coverages, [3] NBA Tagalog commentary, and in The Score. [4] [5]

Currently, he is working in Northern America as ABS-CBN's correspondent, and later as their bureau chief. [6]

Personal life

Manotoc's mother is Aurora Pijuan, a former beauty queen and Miss International 1970. His father was Tommy Manotoc, a golfer and PBA champion coach. [7]

In 2018, he was featured on ANC, and Metro. On those features, he detailed that he was a depression survivor. [2] [8]

Balitang America was the flagship news program of TFC, produced by ABS-CBN International and ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs. The program, which was first hosted by Cara Subijano, had its debut as a weekly newscast covering the Filipino-American community on September 28, 2002. It was converted to a weeknight broadcast on May 7, 2007, and Gel Santos-Relos, an ABS-CBN News personality who had previously worked in the network's main office in the Philippines before moving to the US, took over as the host. Santos-Relos was succeeded as the newscast's anchor after she decided to retire by Ginger Conejero and TJ Manotoc. On July 16, 2021, the program came to an end, and TFC News Now North America took its place.

Tomás "Tommy" La'O Manotoc Sr., is a Filipino golfer and former basketball coach. As a basketball coach of several Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) teams, Manotoc won six PBA titles, including a grand slam with the fabled Crispa Redmanizers. Manotoc is the chairman emeritus of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP). He also served as president of the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) from 2012 to 2014. He occasionally writes as a sports columnist for the Philippine Daily Inquirer and was a TV panelist for the PBA coverage from 2000 to 2002.

Mark Anthony Gozar Andaya, also known as "Big Mac" or "Big Mak" is a Filipino professional basketball player and actor who last played for Pasig Pirates of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted eighth overall by Talk 'N Text in the 2006 PBA draft. After playing for the Philippine Patriots in the ASEAN Basketball League, he was acquired by the Barako Bull Energy Boosters. He also had a brief stint with the Misamis Oriental Meteors in the Liga Pilipinas and then played for several MPBL teams.

Mornings @ ANC was an early morning news and talk program of the ABS-CBN News Channel. It premiere on July 3, 2006, replacing Breakfast. The show concluded on February 24, 2017, It was replaced by Early Edition in its timeslot. It features all the information needed, ranging from news, both local and around the world, technology, sports, health, environment and entertainment news, along with the latest trends affecting Filipinos here and abroad. It aired on weekdays from 5:30 am to 8:00 am (PST).
